3rd Gen Performance

So overbreak I am planning to pep up my 4runner a bit to hopefully get it back to its off the showroom performance or possibly better. I am planning on doing all the intake mods(deckplate, ISR, Elbow, and throttle body O ring gasket). While doing this i am also going to replace the fuel filter which should help out. In addition to this I was wanting to do something with the exhaust to get it flowing better, my goal is just to have it downshift less on the highway when climbing hills and mountains when i make my annual ski trips to colorado. Im not sure if its worth it doing full header back exhaust(costly) for little gains and loss in low end and mid range torque from too much flow. So would it be be better to just replace the with high flow muffler and cat using stock pipes keeping the stock manifold? Any good air filter recommendations cause prolly going to replace that as well? All my plugs and wires have already been replace with oem toyota stuff, would it have been better to go with different aftermarket plugs and wires? Maybe do a seafoam treatment to top it all off with some royal purple fluid? Would it be wise to switch over to 91octane fuel because of the increased air? Sorry for all the questions just trying to spend the least to increase performance and efficiency of the engine as much i can help offset my future switch to 285's

Re-Gear or a supercharger,everything else is a wate of $$.

This, or start shedding weight. Every 100lbs you cut is like a 10th of a second on the racetrack or something like that.
You can go with all synthetic fluids in the diffs, transfer case, trans, engine.

The supercharger is the most cost effective option. In your case, I would focus on replacing worn parts. Has the timing belt been done? Also focus on the regular tune-up items. Your 4Runner won't turn into a rocket, but then again they aren't meant for that. Your wheeling mods don't contribute to that aspect anyway.

So far i have replaced all the timing belt like 2kmiles ago, is it really worth it to change to all synthetic, if so what products should i go with? And What do you guys think as far as best flowing but least loud muffler? Looking at dynomax superturbo, cherrybomb vortex, or 18inch magnaflow? which would sound the best, have the least drone with replacing the cat converter with straight through design?

I'll say it - 2uz swap. :hatsoff:

Besides forced induction - all other mods are inutile.

Anyway. 91 octane gas would helps only if your 4runner is spark knocking under load now.

Save your money, do a good tune up, cut a hole in the front of the airbox and air your tires up.
