this is a post for those that want the finer things... I'm still looking for others, so I'll update as needed... please feel free to post links and other secrets that are found in stock 4runners

1: after you turn off the engine and pull the key, the window switches still work until either Front door is opened... for 43sec
2: test if you have an alarm... roll down driver window, get out, lock car, close the door, wait 30+ sec, pull lock up (got a video of mine)
3: 99+ side mirror defrosters/defogger built in, activated by rear window defroster
4: 99+ came with remote auto down rear windows
5: 99+ head lights auto turn off on door open (confirm yrs)
6: can't lock keys in ign, auto unlock
7: unlock the door twice to unlock ALL doors (rear included but can't unlock front from rear)
8: Limited '01 & '02 came with Homelink in the driver sun visor & heated front seats.
9: the sun visors on '01 & '02 have extensions that slide out.


Rumors-
Can disable the Door chime/light on (found about lowering the volume @ dealer only)
Can disable key in ignition chime/door open (found about lowering the volume @ dealer only)

disclaimer- I'm never right :shrug:

What others do you know of that are factory installed?

Hmm. None come to mind. Mine is a 99 SR5, and the headlights auto turn off when I open the door though. Although I prefer to turn them on and off manually. But dang I am absolutely going to look up how to disable the ignition chime disable! Drives me crazy when I am working on something and need the door open for some reason.
 
The head rest holders when the rear seats fold up. The mirrors have a heater built in which engages with the [rear window] defrost button. Rear window can roll up/down from the key slot in the tail gate.

I feel like there's more little things that I didn't realize for awhile, but I can't think of them...

Oh my god I am learning so much! The freakin mirrors defrost when the rear defrost is on??? Haha. Dang.

My 00 SR5 has the heated mirrors activated by the rear defrost button. It also has the limited fender flares, bigger tires package - I don't know whether the heated mirrors were standard or came with a package.

do you have the leather seats? I think/would bet that it comes with leather seats and the ltd flares... as a pkg. but maybe not... still I know not all sr5's have heated mirrors.
 
My 99 SR5 has the heated mirrors, but it's also a Highlander package (scoop, foglights, lockers, etc, etc).

There's also the very nice auto-open sunroof on 99+ models. Hit the button once, and then it opens all the way.

Confirmed:
1: after you turn off the engine and pull the key, the window switches still work until drivers door is opened... for about 20sec ish I have this.
2: test if you have an alarm... roll down driver window, get out, lock car, close the door, wait 30+ sec, pull lock up (got a video of mine) I have the Low Jack alarm with vehicle recovery, keyless entry & starter disabler from the dealer.
3: later models have mirror defrosters/defogger built in, activated by rear window defroster - snivilious
4: ltd 99+ came with remote auto down rear windows
5: 99+ head lights auto turn off on door open (confirm yrs) I have this.
6: can't lock keys in ign, auto unlock I have this.
7: unlock the door twice to unlock ALL doors (rear included but can't unlock front from rear), I have this.
8: Seat Pocket on side of front seat - I have this.
9: 99+ hidden arm rest compartment... there's two... one deep and one on top of that. I have this.

These are all listed in the owners manuels. I have an almost fully loaded Base model & I'll mark in Red above what I have.

Also the original remote will lower the back window while keeping the doors locked. Great for those hot days coming off the beach to let the heat out.
