Yeah, a 4.30 or 4.56 elocker rear is on the list before a 4WD swap.

It's really hard to tell if these posts are sarcastic without emoticons. If so, well played, sir. If not, the first photo is his T4R reflected in the hub cap of a big rig/18-wheeler of some sort. The "chrome paint" is a photo effect.

Sorry if this sounds condescending; the teacher in me just can't pass up the opportunity to enlighten and educate! :nerd:

I agree with the both of you about the elocker, however when compared to even a 4WD open diffs it's got nothing. 10 times out of 10 4WD will take you a place 2WD with an elocker won't. I recently went out with a buddy of mine who owns a '07 Prerunner tacoma with an elocker, and don't get me wrong, I was surprised with what it was able to do, but when it came down to it my 4WD open diffs destroyed it. But yes, these 3rd gens are beasts no matter what.

Yup. No doubt about that at all. Having the front wheels and a low range gear to pull you along is where it's at. I just can't decide if I wanna just add 4WD to the V6 or V8 swap it.

It'd be a V8 4WD swap. I don't know if I wanna take on that big of a swap at one time. Might just do 4WD, then V8.
