Hi, new owner of a 1999 4Runner Limited v6. It has had some work done to the transmission and engine, and I just put a new paint job on it. There is some rust damage in the interior of the trunk floor along the door that need repair, but other than that, it's awesome!

890's and 5100's in the rear, '99 talls on the 3rd perch of tundra 5100's. I have had a little rubbing but what I have been more concerned about is rubbing on the upper control arm so I think I'll need to get spacers.

Sorry. New to the forum so I can't post my own thread. I'm looking into buying a 1999 4runner long distance and was sent pics before I make the trip to inspect in person.. attached are photos of undercarriage. What do y'all think?

Looks great overall. Check the frame at the point where the exhaust runs closest to the frame, on the inside, just before the passenger side rear wheel. Then look near the inside frame again on the other side, near the gas tank skid.

These are two common points of rust, more on the passenger side as the heat from the exhaust accelerates rust.

wOw how I wish my newly-aquired 1999 4Runner had that clean of an undercarriage! I'm reluctant to show just how rusty it is though for fear y'all say get rid of it ASAP! But it looks good in sunlight ;-)

I know it's kind of hard to tell from the images, but I'm not sure if this is too much rust...

While I LOVE seeing all these nice, low/no-rust 4Runners it's making me nauseous to compare them to my new 1999 SR5 which has seen 17 years of hard Cleveland winters :-/ (apologies in advance for the dirty pictures lol)

Here's mine

2001 Limited 230,000 miles just purchased it a couple months ago. Not a whole lot done to it.

- 265/70-16 Duratec's.
- Ultra Motorsports Maverick wheels.
- Bilstein 5100's w/stock coils up front.
- ??????? coils in back with airbags.
- Tundra front brakes.

Those are 2nd gen Tacoma (05-15) trd off-road wheels. I don't run them but they'll fit.

I owned a 3rd gen a long time ago and am looking to get one again to have some fun with. I came across this one last night and was hopeful you all could help me out. Is the front bumper stock? The color/finish looks different than others I've seen on 2001 SR5s. Maybe it's a different trim and I just am not familiar enough with the various stock options.... any help/guidance is appreciated.
