After lurking on the forum for awhile, I just wanted to say thanks to the collective hive mind for helping me make a good choice, and I thought I would return the favor by sharing a pic. I almost bought a 95, and then I saw this one. And after another long wait, a canceled business trip, and some old favors I had to call in, I finally collected this one. I'd like to think it was worth the hassle.

It's a 99 sport, V6 Auto, rear diff lock, 140K, the shocks are bilsteins, tires are revos 265/75/SR16 that need to be replaced before the end of the year, and I'm not sure if it's had any other upgrades.
It was pretty well taken care of, very clean inside. The mechanic who checked it out said it was in good shape, but that the tires were oversized and would put stress on the steering and suspension components. These are pretty experienced guys, but I like the tires and might stick with the same revos again or go Pirelli in a 265/70.

Lots of paint chips and no oil leaks tell me highway miles. It drives like a champ. I'm wondering if it's had a lift or if stock 4runners sit this high. The clearance is handy as hell. It reminds me of the 22re pickup I had. It's very tossable to drive, oversteers with enough throttle, wallows on the highway at speed, and the suspension is a little bouncy but recovers well. In the dirt it just hunkers down and goes. I'll post more pics this week.

99s are the tallest sitting stock year toyota made, and your springs could even be sagging quite a bit at 140k depending on if they have been replaced yet or not. Thats a great size tire too looks way better then the smaller stok ones.
