3rd Gen to 4th Gen!

Hey guys, just wanted to show a couple pics of my "new" to me 08 4Runner Limited 4X4 with 4.7L V8, previously owned a 2000 3rd gen 4Runner Sport and loved it to death but have a 21ft Ski Boat (Heavy Cobalt) and it didn't agree too well with the 3.4L. I have to say my 2000 was super reliable and would prob not have sold it unless the boat, but am really glad I did now. This 4runner drives so much smoother on the road and much more power and torque! It was a tough find in my area, I was looking for an 06-09 to get the cosmetic updates as well as VVT but had to be V8 for towing. Anyway on to pics. Here is a pic of my 2000 then 2008

Congrats on the move Tommy!! even though it's still a Toyota/4runner, the power and amenities are worlds apart. I too have a 3rd and a 4th and even though I love them both, they are night and day. :hatsoff:

PS: Thanks for posting the "regulatory" pics!!! before someone asked lol

I was sold once I found it, one owner in really good shape, loved the color combo with Blue and tan leather, and full maintenance records at Toyota with new Michelins. It has higher miles for an 08 at 124K but literally feels like new driving it, it is Lexus luxury smooth!! I know at the dealership I work at these 4.7s are pretty bullet proof with Tundras traded in with over 300K and still drive tighter than a domestic!!

Same here. I had a 2000 V6 (3.6L) and bought an '08 V6 (4.0L) leftover the end of '08. I tow a bassboat frequently and the power difference in the '08 V6 was like night and day. I even had a '90 V6 (2nd gen with a 3.slow... sorry, meant 3.0L) that even the 3rd gen put to shame.

Congrats!

Fixed

I did the same, I traded in my 02 3.4l to a 04 v6 and now just traded in for a 07 v8, Just keeps getting better and better. I liked my 02 except I kept having issues with the rear axle seal but when I traded in I REALLY liked the difference between the 02 and 04.

Towed my boat for the first time this weekend to put the boat up for the season, and the newer 4Runner did great, the V8 torque really helped get the boat moving getting on the highway and with a little more length and width felt it was more stable as well.
