We get that it isn't what you would pay, we're just stating that the asking price is realistic. Also, compare the average condition of a 2001 4Runner back in 2007 to the average condition of a 2001 4Runner now. It was only six years old. The earliest 5th gens are nearly six years old right now to give perspective. It's not as easy to find a 3rd gen that is squeaky clean now as it was then. Add to the fact that within the past decade hundreds if not thousands of 3rd Gens(at least in my area) were exported to a fair bit of third world countries and the number dwindles even more. There is a fair bit of demand and a pretty solid following for the 3rd gen so that price is not so far-fetched.

I just realized you are Kyle Reese, so you may have a better understanding of the future of the 3rd Gen market than I do. Tell me now, how will it look in 2029?

The value of a clean third gen is very high. All used cars are. I paid 14k for an 01 limited with 80k miles 10 years ago. Thst was going price. Now they are still worth 10k-12k for the same car and condition from the same dealer. A drop of 2-4k in 10 years shows how strong their resale is.

I've been to the dealership before and they have a great indoor showroom. Last time I was there they had an 05 sequoia that was immaculate with around 65000 miles can't remember the asking price but it was up there. They usually deal with euro imports like audi and bmw

I got my 99 limited with e-lock for 9,995 with 152k miles on it... IMO It's worth every penny, my interior is perfect, and everything works except the antenna (which fell down the fender go figure).

some of these cars, are worth it in the area that they are being sold in. I mean think about it, look at all the features that the 4runner has crammed into it. the 4runner was ahead of it's time back then and still is a great competitor to some of these new modern cars. the differences are more electronics (consumers can fix if they want, different body styles (I'll change my bumper before going bigger), with more researched handling bits (add 3k of Icon and it'll probably ride just as good).

the only things these older 4runners have against them is time, wear/tear. otherwise given new parts they are comparable to newer 4runners.
