3rd generation Recall for a grab handle hatch release

Supposedly there was a retrofit recall to add something or modify the interior grab handle to release the hatch. A safety issue I guess in case of entrapment in the cargo area. I read this somewhere. I'll see if I can find it again. Anyone heard of this?

Haven't heard of this but would be awesome to have for when I sleep in there and need a easy way out.

It says "Trunk", we don't have trunks.

It says in case of "entrapment", we aren't entrapped since we have 4 more doors to get out through.

It says "applicable" models, our models are not applicable.

That's true. It's odd that it popped up in the list of items after searching with the VIN of my 97 Limited.

Here is the actual TSB that gave rise to the item cited. It got an all models listing so shows up for 4Runners, but you can see the 4Runner is not one of the models included.

Thanks "The Durk". Disappointed but oh well, I would have paid good money for that. Case closed.
