So I must reignite this debate over the 4 hole injector as I am weighing the option of replacing with 4 port rather than rebalance/clean.
and here are the options:

I ran the yellow ones for my 4runner and they run fine...so far. I did not notice better MPG for about 3 tanks..then I noticed an little improvement. Actually the biggest improvement was my shifter solenoid inside my transmission. Once I had a couple of them changed out, my MPG went up. I was not aware that I had a failing solenoid until I got a CE Trans error code. You have to remove the trans pan to get to them.
I think the Type 3 are suppose to spray closer to the OEM spray (less gas than the other ones)...but in a 4 nosal injector. I asked them why they are cheaper, they said these were cheaper to buy.
One of my injectors seem to tick a bit louder than the 5 others...but I don't know if there is anything I can do about this. I bought them from FT on ebay.
Oh one thing..I previously had a paper plenum gasket and a cork one came with the kit...make sure you torque it down correctly with the correct foot/pounds...or you might get an air leak and rough idle.

Check on eBay and ask the seller.
I don’t see Flame Throwers (brand) being listed anymore.
I do see 4hole injectors that are still stating overall improvements on performance and MPG.

I ordered some Bosch 4 hole injectors (rebuilt) off Ebay. Seller insists they are correct for 89-95 3VZE. they look simialr to other images of the bosch 4 hole i have seen, but they look NOTHING like the injectors i pulled out and dont fit into the injector cups and are shorter that the ones taken out.
The BOSCH are the tan/yellow ones...
Am I looking at a comparable part that will fit?

I could create a new thread for this but why since it's right here, even if it is 4 years old.
So this has been in the back of my mind as I get easier and more necessary maintenance done.
In theory the 4 holes will atomize the fuel better getting a more consistent and better burn.
With that being said if you're getting more fuel from the injectors per cycle compared to stock you will need to possibly make some adjustments to the engine to take advantage of the added fuel.
Could be simply a bit more timing but I 100% do not know enough about motors to give an answer here.
With that being said I think I will be going to a 4 hole and I will try and match the OEM flow as much as possible.
Has anyone added a bit of timing after upgrading the injectors and gotten better results? I know this engine doesn't have much going for it just curious. I'm currently at the factory 8 degrees, so I was letting it stay there for now but with upgraded injectors and running around 12 (I have read this motor really likes 10 at idle and I had it there and it seemed a bit more responsive) you might see even a bit more pop.

I bought a set of cheap 4-hole upgraded injectors that required adapters (provided) from ebay for my 1st gen '89 with the 3.0. It ran like total crap right off. These supposed upgrades were trash. I am petty sure that they are the same ones you are asking about there.
Two were just dumping on fuel like crazy and after a total of a few minutes of running it at idle and a few minutes trying to drive it, the plugs were a black mess. Two others seemed to be barely giving fuel at all and two working normally. I put the old injectors back in and it ran ok. I had to clean my spark plugs, intake and run a cleaner into my intake to blow out a long thick black cloud out of my cat. Then, I was back to where I was.
A while later I decided I needed to replace my injectors, but was gun shy after the last time. I did end up with getting 4-hole upgrades, but only after researching the sellers and their product thoroughly. The ones I bought I made sure were genuine Toyota injectors that were rebuilt and the nozzles replaced with the 4-hole design. After the replacement, I noticed no improvement whatsoever. No difference at all, except I didn't have one of my old injectors leaking anymore. I would have been just as well off just getting s used replacement for the one leaky injector.
