3vze Code 25

Hey guys, just finished all kinds of work with my 92 3vze. Including the T-Belt Intake Chamber gaskets and such. I have no idea how the truck ran BEFORE this as I just bought it with a broken T-Belt so this is the first start. The problem is that it starts and idles at about 1100 and is responsive to the throttle. Then it starts bumping up and sits at about 2000 and stutters in response to throttle movements. Since I had 9,000 vacuum lines off I think I might have mixed them up even though I took pictures and referenced the yota book. Also throws Code 25 only. Any help would be appreciated

Also might check the throttle position switch. I have been able to search a lot of these forums and find the exact stuff I am dealing with on my Yota, your starting with an unknown tho, so that sucks, Mine was throwing a code 25 and I replaced the TPS and fixed it (so far) but its sounding like it could very well be a vacuum leak too. Good luck man

I just read through it. Stuff I already thought of. To be honest I think it is a vaccum leak that is hidden somewhere in the miles of lines there or a mix up in the lines. I looked around and found some, but can anyone take pictures of their truck's vaccum lines? Especially the passenger side intake chamber area.

Here is the current vacuum line setup Please excuse the crappy pictures!

I did some digging around in my manual and found some leads. The "idle speed control valve" that is slung under the TB, is that common enough of a problem to warrant investigating it? It seems to get clogged or something apparently? I ohmed out the Cold Start Injector as well as the MAF Sensor and they seemed ok. I have not investigated the TPS yet that is next.

I have a similar situation but I'm seeing a code 71.
I adjusted the idle screw under the Toyota in the TB casting and dropped the idle to a decent speed at about 850. I loosened the TPS and rotated it slightly to a point where it would "hunt" and fall back and then rotated it back ccw to the right speed.
Did you have the TPS off? I did and when I reinstalled it I had the two tangs on the TB on the wrong side of the mating places on the TPS and got exactly the situation you describe.
My driveway looks the same as yours but with different colors. Is that an e34?

Just a random thought, did you clean the throttle body? the "idle speed control valve"? & the cold start injector?

It's cool you're checking resistance for troubleshooting, i was just wondering if you cleaned these items as you went along?

Yes, I had already cleaned it when I took the TB off when I took the plenum off for Valve Cover gaskets and plenum gasket change. MAde sure the TB idle valve was clean and re-cleanced and tested the cold start by putting 12vs to it and passing TB cleaner through it.

Yep E34 525 5spd

Hey guys I actually just fixed it this weekend. Since my last post I took the TB off and cleaned and inspected it again, Inspected the TPS again, Checked the MAF sensor while moving the barn door etc etc. Checked the Coolant temp sensor and re-installed everything again. Still 2k rpm idle, stalling when put into drive and overheating. ARGGHHH. So, since the truck was overheating and such I bought a new radiator as this was the only cooling system part not changed. Changed the Rad and truck starts up and idles PERFECT. :first: No other changes were made on it. So happy!! So in the end a new radiator fixed:
2k idle
back firing with ANY amount of throttle input
stalling when switched into gear
overheating

Now all it needs is tires a rear bumper cancer repair and fix code 52(knock) and 41(tps) and I will start driving it!!
