I wonder how tolerant a hybrid would be with deep water crossings. God forbid you go abit too deep. Might need more than a simple ECU replacement. But your probably right, a diesel hybrid would probably make for a real efficient and powerful drivetrain

I never thought of that from an off-roading perspective but you're right. I forget where I was reading some predictions from an "insider" (aren't we all) about this hybrid strategy.
