4 Runner 2008 SE

Hi,


I want some information.
I recently bought a 4 Runner and I got only one key from the dealer which doesn't have remote control buttons on it.

It is clear that the key is not OEM key, so how can I say it is chip-Key?
And do these 2008 4 Runners have an alarm system?

I believe that if you look down where the metal part of the key meets the plastic, there should be a small circle on one side if it is chipped.

I believe alarm systems are an add-on except maybe in the case of the limited edition (not sure on this), but the immobilizer unit is standard.

Yes there is a circle dot.
So, if it has an alarm system then I need the OEM key with control buttons for it?

I think you'd just need a remote. I believe it will work with any programmable remote.
