No, I don't think I have seen an ad for the 5th gen 4Runner. I do see ads for the Prius though.

I see TV show that have product placement of various new Toyota products but never a 4Runner.

Maybe Toyota is ashamed of us, or maybe they don't need to pay to advertise the T4R because they sell all of them that they make already.
 
I swear I saw one very recently regarding the 5th gen. It's the only one I ever recall seeing, and I only saw the one time. I tried to find it doing a Google search, but had no luck. Maybe I was dreaming?
 
OK Good I thought I was going nuts, I was watching TV last night and I swear all I saw were commercials for Chevy, Dodge and Nissan, I did see a few for Toyota vehicles but non model specific.
 
Here's some of the ones that showed when the 5th's first came out. All based on the "you in" motto.There were a few more I couldn't find.

I've never seen one that i can remember. Its funny though, becuase I have seen a ton of Tacoma and Tundra commercials over the years. You would think the buyers are not that different, but they feel the need to market those two vehicle much more heavily. Maybe its because 4runners blow most every other SUV out of the water, whereas their pickup trucks are on a more level playing field with competitors in the industry.

Used to see them all the time when the 5th gen first came out. These are like everything else in that they are "targeted" for a specific audience in a specific part of the country. I live in the snowy mountains (and our dealer sells between 12-15 4runners a month) so we were targeted. Those of you where the land is flat and the snow does not fly probably did not see any as they were not brodcast in those locations.
 
No need to have commercials. Those that buy 4Runners already know, we don't need the media to tell us what to buy. If we did, we would all have Highlanders LOL

I caught this ad where all the Toyota cars looks like they were cut out of paper. This was last year. They had the usual sellers but this looked like a 4Runner to me. I got excited.

I just recently saw a commercial where the 4Runner was briefly mentioned, not too long ago. I was surprised because you never hear that. I like that it's not advertised.

I just posted this same subject yesterday, (in another thread) about 4Runners, "NOT NEEDING" to be promoted or advertised. Here's a quote:

"....Once again, "Congratulations on your New 4Runner, Great choice!" Please remember veloindy, these 4Runner trucks are Toyota's, Tried And True, "Crem de la'crem", and have NEVER been plagued with hidden mechanical issues; which is the reason you never see a "4Runner t.v. commercial".

Their award winning status is a result of many years of precocious, technical innovation and Extremely high "design and build" standards! But no matter how "perfect" that an item may be (no matter what its' intended use), they'll always be something about it that I'll wish could have been improved; tis' the natural order of mankind!

Seansy- i totally saw that ad to with the paper cut out vehicles and that was the first time I saw a 4R in any AD and was excited too! Lol- we are all freaks here!
 
I didn't want to create a new post just for this question, but I recently saw a commercial for the Toyota 4Runner where they were driving a trail version with a roof rack. Anyone know what roof rack they are using in the commercial??

Probably seen the same 4Runner commercial a dozen times on TV in Houston. Barcelona Red, off-road somewhere in the mountains, and camping. The only commercial I recall seeing for the 4Runner in recent years.
