Toyota fan here. My next vehicle will be a 4runner. I know next to nothing about them, so I'm here to do my homework - this looks to be the best place to do that.
First objective is to understand the basic life cycle of a 4r. Can't buy new so I'd like to know what to expect from 4runners based on mileage so that I can factor in expected service costs.
One of the problems I see is having a way to compare different offers. But it looks like 4rs often get more than 200K. My idea is to use the cost to get to any particular vehicle to 200K as a benchmark.
The idea is that this will let me compare a 4r with 50K vs one with 150K and get an idea of what that final cost / mile to get to 200K is going to be.
Does that even make sense? I'm sure things are not so simple, and a lot of factors get glossed over in doing things this way, but this looks like a way to start.
If anyone has a better way to compare all the different offers out there, I'm listening.
Time line for this is several months, so lots of time to do homework.
