4 runner troubles

hello , i have recently run into trouble with my 4runner the other day i drove it home in a snow storm parked it outside of my house in the country and the next when i got in it and started it my transmission did not work at all it will not go into gear is there any one who knows what this could be or has had similar trouble with they're truck

see if you got snow or ice packed up around the gear linkage under the truck, heard that can keep you from getting into gear

also, what do you mean doesn't work? wont shift from park? shifts but truck doent move?
