4 Way Power Seat - What's the Point?

I just realized that the front passenger seat is only a 4 way power seat. My question is... what is the point? It moves forward and back and reclines. These functions are handled far more efficiently with manual controls. The only real point to a power seat is to have the ability to adjust the seat height and tilt.

I'm almost hoping you guys tell me this is a mistake so I can take it in and get this corrected.

I guess power seats have more "wow" factor than manual seats.
Sure, manual controls would do the same job. I will admit, though, that I like adjusting the seat position with a power control instead of a manual bar. With the manual method, I'm always wondering if the seat will slide all the way back as soon as I release the bar! The power controls won't do anythng unexpected.

Exactly as Toto said. Power seats it's good for those minute adjustments during long drives and without having the seat suddenly move too far or too fast from under you.

I would prefer manual seats because it's faster to go from upright to relince, etc. for those lunch time naps and cleaning the interior faster, instead of waiting a minute or two for it to move. But I have a few people who always mess with my seats when they get in. Power is better because it won't slide around too fast when you're driving. I'll probably disconnect the wires, so they can't mess with my seat.

But there's nothing you can do about it. The seat is only a 4-way power seat. Power seats = more luxury than a manual. Here's something that'll really ruffle some feathers, the 2004 Camry XLE has height adjustable power passenger seat and the 2004 RX330 does not. I don't know about the other years, but for sure on the 2004 because I was in the market for a RX and my cousin has the Camry. When I saw his passenger seat controls, I was thinking WTF.

So, 06's don't have power seat height adjustment? My 05 has it, along with the lumbar thing.

The GX470 has a 4 way power passenger seat as well. It must be an 4Runner/GX thing! The GX470's have a lumbar support adjustment for the passenger side as well. As for the RX, the passenger seat in the 2006 RX400h, 2005 RX330, and 2007 RX350 has a height adjustable passenger seat.
