i don't think it'll help, but i'm moving to charlotte soon and i installed my own myself on my KDSS. if you have a shop and tools(including real spring compressor) i'd do it for VERY cheap.

That's what we did, I got paid in pizza and beer. We could have got it done in 3-4 hours but the pay slowed us down a little.

Why would you let them order the parts you can order yourself?

They clearly haven't dealt with any 4Runners so instead of trying to convince them to do the install go take the parts and have it installed somewhere else. Do you really want a shop that has no experience or knowledge with Toyotas to do a lift installation? If they **** up the install and make things worse I think you'd feel really really stupid for even trying to convince them.

4 Wheel Parts is an incompetent shop and should not have any business of ours. Ford/Jeep that's as far as their knowledge goes.

Like others have suggested, demand every cent back, show them an install thread of a lift, laugh in their face and tell them you will take your truck to someone who knows what they are doing. done.

Sorry for the delay here guys (thought I already posted my progress)...

I took your advice and went somewhere else. You all are right; 4 Wheel Parts did me a favor. I now have an appointment on Monday at Tarheel 4WD here in Charlotte. I spoke to Andy there and he had done this exact mod several times in just the last year. No problem he said... and on top of that he is doing some of the other things that I was going to take elsewhere (install of Cooper tires and airlift 1000).

Thanks for the thoughts and for confirming my doubts in them. I also appreciate the offers to help. I am running up against the clock on this one so had to get something done quick.

I'm also from Charlotte,NC planning to get my lift end of this year. Let me know how it goes with Tarheel, I have a trail with kdss, Scott Clark Toyota recommend Motor trenz somewhere in Mathews or Union county who do all their lifted Tundra. I'm also trying to find a good shop to do the lift. Good luck with your build.

do you by chance know any welders? i need to do the body mount chop now that i have uca's and have them dialed in. i dont have time to get it done before i move.

The only experience I had with Tarheel 4wd was back in '98 when they installed an OME lift on my FJ62. They installed the shackles backwards. So that was fun. After that I started taking my LC to Toyota Techs in Fort Mill. Air Locker, Snorkel, etc.

I'm not familiar with Motor Trenz, though it looks like they do a lot of quality show work.

Fourwheel parts has solid prices as a large parts seller, so I get things from them occasionally. However, never had anything installed, partly because they just seem to cringe if you are driving something not American, which I always have for trail rigs.
