403 Mile Range on 08 4Runner

WOW!! Went to fuel up this evening and when I reset my trip odometer and began to move my range showed 403 miles! Damn I love my 08 4Runner

Ive been doing nothing but highway mileage lately so mine shows ~425 after i fill up. Getting about 22mpg helps.

Good luck getting that. When my t4r was stock, i saw 420-425 several times a summer. Never got it but close to 400.

Same here...I said goodbye to 300's a long time ago.

I don't pay attention to that meter, it's totally off. On a brighter note, I've been averaging 21 almost 22 miles a tank with mostly highway and decent city driving...been getting 410-420's per tank!

Are you getting your mpg's from the computer?

I've read that the computer is about 10% off, give or take, from the actual mileage that you are getting.

Yea but like the person above said it could be off but overall, I'm getting better mileage than expected.

Thats good. The computer is around 1.5-2.0 mpg higher than your actual mpg's. The range is calculated from your computers mpg, so the range is always out of reach.

I just filled up and got 17mpg while my computer read 19.3 mpg. I pumped 20.8 gallons and had 354 on that tank. This tank range started at 360! My range still said 22 miles yet and my light just came on. I had 2 gallons left so I think it fairly accurate.

mpg is easily 2 or more mpg off and more off the higher it reads

Anyway, 17mpg on a v8 with maybe 50% highway hand calculated miles is pretty damn good in my opinion. I almost wish I had a straight highway trip.
