48 gal Action Packer in a 5th gen?

Anyone ever try and put one of these in the back of a 5th gen sideways up against the back seat, will it clear the inner wheel wells? Pics of possible...

That's the thing, I measured 43 inches from well to well. The action packer is 44.75, but isn't that at the widest point? The base of the bin is definitely less wide that the top, so with my sliding cargo tray that might make the bin sit higher and clear the wells.

Normally I'd go out and try it out and return it if it doesn't fit, but no one around me carries them, that's why i'm reaching out here.

Im planing on getting two of the action packers but I haven't decide which size fits the best yet. A Canadian tire here in Canada keeps them in stock so if you give my a few days I will see what fits and report back.

I do think the larger one won't fit because the sides are not tapered.

If you go with the 35Gal version, it's a nice fit when turned lengthwise from front to back... it fits between the seat-back and hatch. You could have two side by side, or the action packer and a large cooler that can be accessed easily by pulling out the sliding tray.

I have one that I throw in the back of my 4runner for weekend trips. Ive found that it makes for a fair bit of wasted space, so it isn't the best when you are filling up the back.

**I lied. I have the smaller 35 gallon action packer -- who uses gallons anyways??

We have a few of the 48 gallon ones at my work, so I will try and fit one of those in my 4runner tomorrow to make up for my blunder.

Sorry -- that is a 5th gen as well.

The top pics is the 48 gallon action packer, while the bottom picture is the 35 gallon action packer oriented longitudinally (the middle seat is not folded down).

No sure if it makes a difference, but those of us with a slider (or at the very least no 3rd row seating) have different wheel arches in the rear storage area. that might affect what fits. the pics of mh11 indicate he has the 3rd row rear end with cupholders in the wheel arches.

Sorry to revive this long dead post. But if I'm reading Okki's post correctly, then YES, that 48 gallon ActionPacker will indeed fit in the back of a 5th gen with 3rd row, right?
I see Uline selling that size for $99 (2 or more for $93) and was going to jump on them, but wanted to confirm if they'll fit first.

About to go pick up my 24 gal from Menards. Wanted something that would fit with the rear seat in place and an ARB 50 Qt. both should nicely fit on the slideout tray. Hoping I can even fit two 24s in there.
