4lo light on but in 2wd.

Hi everyone,

I tried searching the forums but did was not able to find a related post. When I pulled up at work this morning I noticed the 4lo orange light was illuminated on the dash, but I was in 2wd. Has anyone else had this happen before? I'm assuming it's going to require a trip to the shop, but wanted to check to see if anyone had any insight before I did that.

Note that I do put my car into 4wd at a minimum of once a month if not more to keep things lubed up and it hasn't given me any issues yet (until this dash light).

Have you tried cycling through 4hi, 4lo, 2wd?

I doubt that it's the same problem, but I had an issue with my 4WD system losing sync with the selector switch after the dealer did my head gaskets. It's a long read, but here's my story.

When I was trying to figure out what the dealer did to my truck, I only found one other example of the transfer case becoming out of sync with the 4WD selector and it was after a stereo shop installed a new head unit or alarm and something electrical happened. I think a similar problem caused my issue.

I'm only bringing this up because there are a very few examples of the system losing sync with the actual 4WD state. It's not something that happens very often.
