4Lo & locking diff lights flashing on dash, don't know why...05 Runner

I have a V8 2005 4X4, obviously, and I came home from the gym and didn't notice anything on my dash flashing. I came home, parked the car and then decided to to go the store. When I got in the "4Lo" and "Locking Diff" lights were flashing on my dashboard when I started the truck. I don't know why as I never go out of 4HI so I an unsure what has caused this. I attempted to shift into 4Lo but nothing seemed to happen. I hit the locking diff button but again, nothing. Anyone know why this happened or how to get the flashing to stop? Do you think its dangerous to drive it this way? I didn't notice any difference in handling in the snow on the way to the store so I have no idea whats going on.

You could always pull the negative battery terminal and reset things. If whatever tripped those lights is still failed, those lights should come back on.

Am I correct in saying that when I pull the negative that I will need to reset all the windows and sunroof? Well, maybe not the sunroof in 10 degree weather...

Yup, you'll have to reset that stuff as well as your radio presets.

I pulled the neg and no difference. I let it stand for about 10 minutes. Now I have a flashing dash board, radio channels that need resetting, and I will have to open the windows sometime soon to get them set again. Looks like I will have to call the stealership tomorrow. Ho hum...thanks anyways.

scott78945 - let us know what the diagnosis is. your truck is pretty new so I wonder what malfunctioned.

Well, I got into my truck this morning and the lights were off. I guess pulling the neg did work. If it does come back then I will be going to the dealership. We had snow this morning and all seemed to be working fine. I'll keep you all updated if it happens again.
