4runit [ Build Thread ]

You have built your runner well the thing looks great. If I had to have another color that would be it.

Thanks driffter your rig is nice I like your bumpers, wish I had skills like you haha. You did the elocker retrofit right? How much did it cost and did you do it yourself? I wanna do something like that in the near future..

4runit - can you provide us some more details on the Perkins rear bumper? I've never heard of them until now and just did some quick research. How did the install go? Any welding or anything hard about it - is it a simple bolt-on deal?

I love my SW front bumper - it was well built, the tolerances were spot on and the thing fits like a glove.

Would love to hear more about your experience with Perkins.

TIA!

Jason is a great guy to work with, he answered all of my questions and was very helpful. The bumper simply bolts on to the frame, no welding or cutting, just some drilling. The rear fits like a glove just like the Shrockworks, he customized my rear bumper by adding holes for the reverse lights and adding a cb antenna mount. My rear bumper was about $800 shipped.
Here is some information that Jason sent me when I first asked him about his bumpers.

"The bumper without spare weighs in at 89lbs, with the tire carrier its about 125lbs. We ship bumpers all over the united states. As far as shipping prices to northern CA, it will definitely be under $200, probably closer to $125 to a commercial address. If its going to a residential address they tack on a $75 lift gate charge. So if you can have it shipped to your work or some place with a commercial address it will save you some money! Our rear bumper for the 3rd gen 4runner is $595. We can add the swing out carrier for $295, and the antenna mount for $15 .This bumper comes standard with the 1" shackle mounts, black powdercoat, 2" receiver, and grade 8 mounting hardware."

Little late but I used these led circuit boards from v-leds.com, can't remember part number but there are pretty universal.

Updates
So in preparation for my camping trip to the pismo dunes, I decided to get some new camping gear. Picked up a 7 gallon water jug, coleman grill, and a lantern. Also, today I changed the oil for the first time myself and replaced the oil filter with a K&N, very easy compared to other mods. Also was able to give the beast a nice bath and detail, and rotate the tires.

I'll be heading down to Pismo beach with a couple friends on march 4th, staying until Wednesday the 6th, and will be hitting up Hollister Hills on the way back. Pics to follow!

how am i not subscribed to your build thread?? i love your 4runner man. it's probably on my top 3 favorites on the forum. looking forward to your future mods.

couple questions for ya, what did you use to tint your tail lights?

I suffer from short term memory loss quite often, so sorry if you already did this, (nothing personal) but did you already get a clock swatch from me to match it with your interior lighting?
