Love the restoration and the color you went with. I have an 88 4runner that I'm pretty much restoring since the previous owner took no care of it whatsoever, which is in need of a paint job pretty bad, may I ask what price I'd be looking for with a full strip, primered, paint, and clear? Not sure if you did any yourself or not, but I would most likely have a shop do all the small body work and paint. PM if you'd like to talk about pricing there, thanks and nice rigs!

But because we've had work done at a local shop before so they hooked it up for a decent price but took their time on it. For prep work the interior was stripped out completely including the windshields and moldings.

How easy to get the front bumper installed to the truck? I know ARB Taco bumper needs some minor modifications.

I am considering installing the shrockwork bumper. If it is simple bolt on I will go with it.

Also where did you get the hood scoop? was it the entire hood?

shrockworks is a simple bolt on. Hood scoop I found aftermarket from levan in the Bay area. It was an entire primered hood but the grill insert was from the dealership.

I think the hood was $90? Fits pretty nice for aftermarket.

The interior was painted since it was completely stripped out.

Here are some more pics. The 87 will be shipped to Honolulu this week and will probably take about 10 days to arrive. Can't wait to pick it up at the docks :hungry:
A neighbor came to my parents house this weekend offering a decent amount of cash for the truck. He said he had seen it on his way to work and loved the way it looked. He even asked my dad to build one for him haha. My dad declined because he is too busy with work.

major props to you man your runner is amazing and inspirational and your new rig is sooooo sick my jaw literally dropped when i saw the new paint.

First mod was to upgrade the sound system and an alarm, so I got a new pioneer head unit (avh p4000), Rockford Fosgate 12" Subs, and a scytek alarm.

Next I upgraded the suspension to bilstein blue and yellows I got off of ebay. After that, the 4runner got some color matched Extend-a-Fenders by Bushwacker and removed the running boards.

After the flares and running boards were removed, I went on a little mod spree and did the Satoshi Grill Mod, added a Rola roof rack, LED interior lights, tinted LED Brake Lights and front turn signals, +99 Center Console Swap, and painted some 4runner pieces.

A couple months later I got a Magnaflow 18" muffler installed (highly recommend to anyone), and did the Deckplate mod. As far as performance, the improvement was nothing major, but it made the V6 sound beefy!

Do you know the model number of the muffler you have?

Nice 4runner!

Good choice on the setup of your 4runner. I love that rear bumper. I'm planning on buying the same rear bumper from perkins performance. How do you like the rear bumper so far? Are the quality and fitment good?

Alexfrilot: I believe the muffler is an 18", i got it off craigslist from some guy who had it on his civic.
kevin: The rear bumper is awesome. I would like to add a swing out sometime in the future but not right now. No issues with fitment, quality is very strong.


Sorry I haven't been on guys, been dealing with some BS here in HI with registering the truck. Installed some Bushwacker cut outs in order to get a recon sticker (only in HI) and pass safety check. All in all its been an expensive past couple months since the master clutch went out too and I had to get that replaced. Anyways here are the pics.. starting with the stickers that have been a pita to get.

^^^man my favorite mini truck is ruined... i know its not your fault and you where kinda forced into that, but i think if i were you, id of found a more non-permanent way for put the flares on... but at least you have the truck now and its legal

its all good not everyone has to like it! I'm happy with the look some little thin flares weren't gonna cut it. It got the job done and I can finally drive the truck around without getting hassled by babylon.olice:

Do you recall what size BFG all terrains you had at this point. I like the look and have an OME setup for about 3 inch's of lift. Was curious to know what size they are.

FYI you dont need to quote the pics...

Those pics are stock, no lift. 265/70/16s were what came with the 4runner when I first got it. Since you have a 3" lift I suggest going with a larger tire if you can afford it. Around 33" something like 255/85/16s or maybe 285/70/16s..
