I might be getting a 1986 4Runner that has a solid axle swap already, but has a detroit locker in the rear and an ARB air locker in the front. I want to swap them out and put the ARB out back to make it more streetable. Are the 3rd members interchangeable?..

Yes they are. But you will have to reroute the air line for the ARB to the rear axle. Keep in mind that the Detroit in the front axle will destroy the stock birfs if they haven't been upgraded to longs or 30's by the PO. Ask me how I know. I run front and rear detroits and it's really not that bad on the road. You just have to go easy on the skinny pedal in turns. I personally would prefer the ARB in the front axle if I didn't have the option to run 2wd low/double low with my dual cases. Either way, you shouldn't have any problems swapping the them out.

I dd a detroit too. It's really mild on the street. I'd keep it the way it is unless you have money for some longs.
