4Runner Brake Video (Frozen Caliper)

Unfortunately I'm having to perform a frozen caliper replacement today on my 2008 4Runner Urban Edition. This will be done on the 13WH rotor. Would anyone like an additional video for when I am performing this? Brakes I will be installing are EBC 7000 Green Stuff.

I'm sorry that it froze on you. At least now you have an excuse to put better brakes in.

But, to answer your question... YES! videos are awesome and it would probably help a lot of people out! I'm a visual learner, I can read threads all day, but seeing being able to see something makes a world of difference.

YES PLEASE! I'm handy but not too mechanically inclined. I did change my spark plugs with the help of a how to video and pictures that someone on here posted.

I don't have a video but I did my front brakes not too long ago. I thought my caliper was frozen and was about to get some reman calipers - only 1 piston was frozen when I tried to compress with a c-clamp. As I was going through my tool box, I saw my ball joint separator. I put it on the frozen piston and started turning the bolt to compress... I figured what do I have to lose. Lo and behold, the piston started to compress. I made sure the piston was still good by applying the brakes and was easier to compress afterwards. Seemed like it was just stuck... Thought I would mention as you can try this first before you replace your caliper - below is a pic of the separator and you can get them cheap at Harbor Freight. Put the "U" on the frozen piston...

BTW, call your local dealer and see if they have the pins for the pads (2 on each caliper) and replace them. Mine were so rusted, I had to cut them off and punch out the remaining pieces... unless they slide in and out easily, its worth the few bucks to save headaches for the next brake job.
