4Runner Car Camping Low Profile Setup : Watch Movies or TV

You may want to enjoy TV or Movies WHILE you lay down on the "bed" inside your 4runner.

Here is a dirty solution to mount Laptop and you can play movie with it.

There are totally 4 screw taps at the ceiling of the trunk. Just connect them with fishing wires (30 lbs recommended).

Slide in your notebook or hang Bluetooth speakers.

I hang it up in the car with clamps & rope and it works great. It prevents the issue of opening the door during the night and mosquito coming in.

...in College I called this "living out of my truck," except it was a 4x4 Taco with a high roof topper.

Any more details about finding the screws? Is it as simple as popping the plastic round covers off or do you have to fish under headliner? I've heard the headliner is quite fragile and expensive to replace. I like your fishwire idea, but my idea is to put some short canvas straps with rivets in order to hook in carabiners, ropes, webbing, Etc. I really want the Landcruiser attic made by Bluerisge Overland Gear, and that's why I need some additional headliner mounting points (I already added the striker kit for the FJ to add d-rings to the rear hooks).

This is not a professional solution. I know that you guys have done lots of nice conversion (e.g. take out the 3rd row seats, remove the sliding cargo tray and customise drawers under a completely FLAT platform …)

This solution is rather a flat sleep platform with fold up/down of the 2nd row seat on-demand basis (assumed that you have the 3rd row seats). You can finish the sleeping platform setup within 2 minutes.

Very creative, I have the same seating setup as you and I just lay a foam sleeping pad down, then my thermarest and sleeping bag. Good to go... either you are much taller than me or I sleep much better than you! Haha.

I like your overall creativity in this thread though, don't let people bag on you!

This thread is more of what this forum needs. What issues did you come across using your Runner in X way, what solutions did you come up with for that problem, and how can we as a community improve on that. I don't care that you cant decide on what suspension to get, I don't care if you can't figure out how to make the the vehicle "faster"(press the damn pedal further), and I certainly don't give a flying F if your tires are rubbing. These are all problems that have been covered a million times on here and elsewhere. As of late this forum is way more about the show than the actual go. The GO is the entire frigging point of the 4Runner. Apologies for my rant , but ehhhhhh...

I guess that you may find those plastic screws in TR Parts on-line. They are fragile mounted under the headliner, therefore, it must be careful if you wrap around fishwire across them. Use at your own risk, sorry

There is no need to pop out those screws, just use fishwire wrap around the corner, simple as that.
