4Runner delivery hold

Patience guys, patience. Easy for me to say since I gave up on the super white I ordered and bought a black one instead because the dealer already had it and I couldn't stand waiting any longer. I'm about 600 miles in and loving it! :lookout:

Well said for someone that had an option. :clap2:

Just got an email from a PA dealer "Toyota lifted the hold in the TRD PRO 4Runner" specific to the vehicles held in NY/NJ port. One step closer.

About time..... Did we ever hear what caused the hold?

Nothing definitive, when I asked the response I got was that it had something to do with quality control, and that Toyota is very picky. It would be interesting to get a definitive reason.

Exact same thing my dealer said. They said that when Toyota rolls out a new model they like to make sure everything is perfect. I am not sure I believe that is the real reason, but it sounds like they are using a consistent explanation.

I've been using Autonation .com since that is where my local dealer gets they're vehicles. It's like cars.com but only for Autonation dealerships around the country. I used the advanced search. Unfortunately it was not coming to my area as "Inferno is my second choice after White. Just surprised to see an Inferno coming through.

Not criticizing your response, but if that were the case, EVERY Toyota would be held up in port/distribution. Sounds like dealer BS to me.

It will be interesting to see if the truth about this TRD situation ever surfaces.

Most likely not.

Exactly. Dealer told me it was a rail car shortage, then he told me it was back ordered parts; I think they have fun making up stories, seeing the hungry customer bite for anything, like a farm trout.

Yeah I didn't really press my dealer on any further information, because I had my Pro and it drove and felt great. Plus, I don't like beating up on the sales guys. I don't think the front line sales guys know much more than we do about what's going on. The sales manager on the other hand...I think that is why they keep him stashed away. He knows too much.

It is still very interesting that the member who worked in the Florida port that said he knew what the issue was has disappeared.

anywhere close to the bakken, it will be a rail car shortage. everything up here is being dropped for moving oil since that's a premium charge for the railroad currently.

everyone is b.itching especially the farmers as they cant move grain.

....

That was inevitable ... he was really pushing his luck, and (likely) got caught. If he's lucky, he still has his job and was told to STFU, and stay off the 'net.

He's still reading this, and still has his job, otherwise he'd still be posting (pissed off).

Insiders are fun to read, but corporations have no sense of humor.

Still do not think any have gotten to east coast dealers

jtallequipment - both out TRDPS are collecting dust here. Sad part is it's less than 45 min drive to the port for me.
