4runner haulin' ass!

31 M/T, dont know my ratios, nearly positive they're stock though, yea i would rather be at nothing higher than 2500 RPM at 70 MPH but what can you really do about it besides regearing...:violin:

HOLY SH1T. 85! WOW dude!
I have hit 65 in my truck and backed off, I cruise at 60. Defn havent broken 70, let alone 85 lol dude! I am afraid for some reason.
Im at 2500 at 60-65, probably the 33s. man i cant imagine 85!

I have seen 70/75 MPH in my 88 N/A 22RE and she want to go more:bravo:
At 65 MPH the RPM is about 2300 I have the 5 spd trans and 31x10.5 tires.
I just did the exhaust over with a 2.5" stainless steel custome made system. No hard bends, Lc engineering header, hi flow cat, and Magnaflow muffler. Before the new exhaust the truck did 65 but, it was not happy about it.

interesting Ben, my truck has newly plumbed (and nicely) exhaust, think its still an older no name muffler, but I wonder about the headers. How much of a sound difference did they make? Truck is already loud, guess it doesnt matter, fvck it!!
I mean it cruises fine at 60-65, I just dont really need or want to make it go faster, ya know?
I still want that backseat BTW mate, ill come to brooksville :)

I was at 3k @ 65, so I dropped 200 RPMs after deleting the cat, going 2.5" all the way and putting a flowmaster on...maybe headers would get me another slight drop, 3k at 70 MPH is not efficient with fuel IMO, and as we all know the 3.0 needs all it can get.

I will have to post a few pics of the Exhaust for you guys. I was looking for better fuel miles but, lost a few MPG doing the exhaust. I did however picked up more power and a smoother running truck.
Before I did the exhaust I had a CEL (bad o2 sensor) factory cat (I think was gutted) an old rusty Magnaflow muffler and factory resonator, the LC Engineering header was already on the truck as well.
My fuel mileage was around 20 MPG pretty good but, the truck felt a little underpowered. I did not think much about the lack of power since my other 22rs I had in the past ran about the same way.
I had John at LHT Performance in Largo Florida build the exhaust for me in exchange I built a Stage 2 performance rear end for his turbo S2000.
John used all mandrel bends and tig welded the exhaust, he also put in a flanged break so the exhaust could be broke down easy. He used all Magnaflow muffler, resonator as well as a high flow cat, and new factory Toyota o2 sensor.
The performance was night and day the truck had a lot more pep and cruising speed on the highway was smooth and easy.
The exhaust is a bit more throaty than stock but, is not loud at all. There is no drone or any other undesirable sounds.
The bad however was my fuel economy fell of to around 17/18 mpg. I do not think the exhaust is the total blame for this I think the faulty o2 sensor is the culprit. I’m sure it was holding back fuel (why the lack of power) and that is why I used less fuel.

I am on the fence right now on possibly boosting the truck. LHT is a turbo specialist and we both think my truck would be prime for added forced induction.

The seats are ready when you are:)

My underpowered gas guzzling POS 3.slow wont hold 70 on the highway without unlocking the torque converter and revving to the moon.

Ouch, Ive gotten mine up to 75-80mph no worries on flat ground. Its just revving its head off at 3800-4000rpm. 8)
