4Runner HID/Headlamp question

Last weekend, I bought a 2008 SR5.

It has the projector headlamps & I am wanting to change over to HIDs (because one of the foglights is out, might as well change everything).

My question is, can I disable the headlights being on when locking/unlocking the truck?

I am wanting to disable this to not cause damage to the HIDs & my lowbeams shine right into my neighbors bedroom in the assigned parking spot at my apartment.

leave the headlight switch to off then, dont leave it on or auto.

The headlight switch is off.

Since I have an SR5, there is no auto option.

When using the key fob to lock the doors, the headlights come on for ~30 seconds.

Is there a way to disable that feature?

your going to have to go to the dealer, and tell them they need to program it to leave it off on unlock, also turns off after 30 seconds if left on when the last door is close. its all controlled on the ecu. must program from the dealer.

My sr5 doesn't do that. But maybe you should start backing in or pulling in straight if you've been backing in. (hopefully that doesn't sound rude) no rude feelings intended.
