4Runner Homelink Garage Opener

I have gathered this information from across several posts, so I thought I would summarize and condense into one new post with further clarification.

My 4Runner didn't come with the Homelink transmitter, and wanted to add this to get rid of my garage door opener.

I ordered mine from Conicelli Parts center for $76. I have listed the Toyota parts, so you can get the part from your favorite Toyota parts place.

63670-0W030-B0 - Gray without sunroof
63670-0W040-B0 - Gray with sunroof
63670-0W030-E0 - Tan without sunroof
63670-0W040-E0 - Tan with sunroof

The part #'s listed are mentioned for 2003-2006, but I have a 2007, and it's the same.


The unit is very easy to install since all that's necessary is to pull the old one down from the ceiling by pulling from the side that faces the windshield. The old unit unplugs with 1 plug, and you simply plug the new unit back in.

The plug has a spot for 5 wires, but in my case there were only 2 wires in the plug from the ceiling. These 2 wires WILL power the map lights as well as the Homelink unit. I imagine the other 3 pins are for powering the sunroof (which I don't have). You can then follow the directions in the owners manual for programming the Homelink unit.

Homelink is a great little gadget. My 4Runner came with it. I originally thought it was kind of a BS option, but after I started using it I was glad to not have to fumble around with a separate opener unit.
My only complaint is that the buttons aren't backlighted. That would make it much easier to find the correct button during the dark winter up here.

But, hell, we Alaskans always find something we can ***** about!

What year is your 4Runner? The parts number could be different with different years.

The part was listed for a 2003-2006, but I have an 2007 and its the same. Maybe the web page wasn't updated to reflect the newer models

Good info bro. I was actually looking to buy another damn remote because I lost mine. I thought about getting a homelink unit installed, but didn't have the parts info (and pricing). Basically you did the research for me, so thanks!

Now how would one go about programing the homelink unit to operate their garage door? Will there be instructions with the homelink unit?

There's instructions that come with it. It's easy to do. The homelink 'learns' your garage opener's code by a signal that your opener unit sends to the homelink.
Actually I think the instructions are in your '06 owners manual, even if you didn't get homelink with your truck.

Cool! I was thinking of making this my first upgrade, since my model didn't come with it. Seems like it would be worth it, and seems simple enough.

It's really simple to install, it literally only took about 5 minutes to do. It took longer to get it programmed for both of my garage door openers than it did to get the old unit out and the new unit installed.

There aren't any instructions that come with the unit, but the instructions for programming the Homelink are in the owners manual.

How did you remove the whole unit. I tried to do this when I was installing a bluetooth kit and I could not pull the map light assebly off. It felt like I was going to break it.

Grasp with both hands the edge that runs along the window and pull straight down. It'll have a tab that slides up over the headliner that it hinges from on the opposite side. Once out remove harness and reverse you steps with putting the new one in.
