4Runner paint flaws?

Ahhh. Poorly stated- allow me to clarify.

YOU are not stupid- your posts designed solely to elicit a negative response from 5th Genners are stupid.

Sorry for the confusion CTH.

Only because I was provoked albeit in a fun way. Look forward to that friend request. :)

its normal and be glad they took the time to paint it in a way that you cant notice it when viewing from above. only from below.

I will probably still get the factory mud-guards but hopefully this offers and extra amount of protection as I plan on keeping the 4Runner a looooooonnnnnggggg time.

Glad I found this thread! I just bought a new 2017 SR5 and noticed the last 2"
of the body below the doors and between the wheel wells is orange peeled also. I'm glad to see it's not a paint flaw and that it was only on my 4rnnr.

My 2016 mag gray has that lower orange peel and so does my brother's 2015 inferno red TRD pro.

I have paint chips all over the front hood and bumper and less than 4,500 miles on it. This Generation 4Runner paint is the thinnest, most brittle, cheap-ass paint I've ever seen on any vehicle. You breath and it scratches. It's really disappointing. But I still love my 4Runner.

Mine has this too. My Lexus had it as well. Honestly I think it's great as my paint never chipped in those areas. My Infiniti never had this and the paint chipped a lot from rocks on the lower areas.

ALL manufacturers have orange peel that's why the refinish companies manufacture clears that purposely orange peel so that it matches in a collision repair.

Hyundai has the thinnest paint from the factory. About half the ones I have seen come in for repair off the transport truck you can see primer through the paint. Nissan would be a close second.
