4Runner photo game

Well you've got a couple different components at play, you've got people who are just casual players and keep an eye on that thread but don't really contribute much unless they happen to be in very close proximity to a tag challenge. You got guys that play a lot, but even they have to do other stuff once in awhile. You got guys that just pop in and out of the thread, some of whom don't post correct pictures or follow instructions because they haven't been part of the thread for long, and they usually post a picture or two and then disappear.

I also think it's kind of difficult to select a challenge that's both somewhat challenging, and also easy enough that it's not completely ridiculous and impossible to achieve. Regional differences also come into play. For example if I posted a challenge for a covered bridge, there's probably an entire portion of the United States that wouldn't know what that was or how to get a picture of one.

After 72 hours, I think most of us would let the last challenge OR a local landmark fly in the spirit of keeping the game moving

Yeah idk what you mean by "covered bridge" lol. And I don't like that landmark thing because I don't live near that either. I am not far from the state Capitol but it's pretty hard to get a photo of your vehicle near it because you can't park by it

A landmark doesn't have to be extravagant. For example, where I live it could be the old 1800s church down the road, the water tower on the hill, this old schoolhouse that sets out in a field and has had all kinds of people photograph it, or just a go-to place in your town. Those kinds of things would be a local landmark.

A landmark doesn't have to be extravagant. For example, where I live it could be the old 1800s church down the road, the water tower on the hill, this old schoolhouse that sets out in a field and has had all kinds of people photograph it, or just a go-to place in your town. Those kinds of things would be a local landmark.

Not to steal it from ya, but I imagine this qualifies as a landmark. Took this at the Red Mountain mining district in Ouray. It's a historical site that has seen better days.

Next up, your 4Runner pictured at a cabin (whether it's a weekend camping trip of what have you)

For me, and evidently many others, I ignore this game because of the remarkably 'difficult' pics that are requested. People need to think about the odds that something will happen or the ability for most people to do it. For example, I remember one challenge that needed car carrier truck full of brand new 4runners in it. Ridiculous! The odds of seeing that within a 3 day period are astronomical and it requires pure luck to see. A player cannot set that scenario up.

I agree. I would add simple and hopefully interesting so it isn't a waste of time. The current "cabin challenge" is a good one and should be easy for most. I think it has to be more than "a pic of your 4Runner at McD" kind of stuff. If we had enough players the "challenge" would be "who can get it first?".

When I was reading the beginning of this there were a lot more people active and people would fight to get it first. Granted some of the challenges are a little off the wall but I wouldn't go so far as to say they need to be stupid easy. That takes the fun out of it

The cabin is about 200 yrs old and pre-dates the farmhouse. It is not a barn and sets at the foot of an old family cemetery. The next challenge is: Your 4Runner next to or with a Miata (or MX-5 for anyone outside US) in the picture. It's my challenge and I like Miatas. [emoji38]

Miatas are everywhere... they made a million or so and they run forever. I could go park next to 4 of them within an hour.
