The pickup's actually a '62 or '63 GMC. They were all over the place when I was a kid.

That van's color is classic early 70's. Used to refer to that colors like that as baby shit. My parents had a '73 Maverick in that color (with a white halo vinyl top and body colored wheel covers). I wanted to put a bag over my head whenever I had to ride in it. And to think they traded in a '68 Mustang on that POS... uke:

It’s funny how much truck styles were similar then. But now I see the difference when comparing some photos.

Thanks. I grew up in the car crazy '60s, when cars (and some trucks) were cool and styles changed every year or two. Easy to remember those vehicles. They started losing their appeal in the early '70s, especially when they sprouted the huge bumpers in 1973.

Thankfully, 4Runners are cool.

OK, here you go. Here's one taken at the charcoal kilns in Death Valley National Park in 2017 on the day we hiked to the summit of Telescope Peak.

I'll leave the challenge the same ("Your truck in a photo that you’re especially proud of. One that would be good in a Toyota (or whatever) advertisement. Since this may not be a scenic time of year at your location you can dig into your archives and display an old photo. Break the Rules!"). That way we can see MeefZah's and others' favorite photos.

Challenge: first lift kit install (I assume archived pics are okay for this, right?)

My first 4R, a 14 TE. The lift I immediately put on was...sigh... a Toytec spacer lift. It actually served me well though. Over the couple years I had it, I upgraded to a Toytec BOSS kit. This is the spacers the day I installed them:

I should have just kept that 4R, by the time I sold it, it was exactly how I wanted it set up.

Next challenge, I rather like the "glamour shot" challenge from earlier. Let's do that again. An archived pic that looks like something from an ad or a professional quality pic.

Not at all. Just bouncing down some rocks in Moab, my wife was taking pics and happened to get that one with the rear wheel grabbing at air. Really was a pretty uneventful, though fun, trail.

A couple from the Alabama Hills just outside of Lone Pine, CA. Mount Whitney is in the background in the first picture. Several old TV westerns (Wagon Train, Lone Ranger, etc.) and a bunch of movies were filmed in the Alabama Hills.

Your truck breaking the law.
I’m not talking about breaking the speed limit. Too easy.
Something more benign like being in a place it shouldn’t be. Like in a no parking zone. No parking on certain days of the week for street cleaning. Road closed. Parallel parking only. Vehicles prohibited. Get a sign in the photo. Or just be in an inappropriate place that will be obvious to the viewer. Don’t cause harm and don’t get caught.

Flexing on rocks in the parking lot of an observatory over looking Boulder, CO. Security caught us, said "It takes 10 minutes for the police get here, I called them as I was walking over here." We bust out of there so fast I almost rolled coming down the mountain haha. This was 5 ish years ago.
