rule of thumb is a 70/30 ratio for weight. 70 percent of the weight centered over the axles of the trailer, 30 percent forward on the tongue
So if that small of jeep reversed on the trailer so the front tires were directly above the trailer axles that would be more preferred? Feel like that would be much less tongue weight than the engine half of the jeep on the front of the trailer
A better rule of thumb is 10-15% of the total towed weight as tongue weight. Naturally, adjusting the load fore-aft is how you typically achieve this.
Too little tongue weight is far worse than too much.
