4runner too tall????

Of course a 4runner can never be too tall, that's nonsense! But what about the stock bottle jack? If you go with a 2.5 or higher lift and 33's will the jack be tall enough to be effective?

The plan is (in a perfect world) to have a baja rack and keep a spare on top when I'm getting all up in mother nature. But will I also need to carry a higher jack?

I too thought about a spare on top... What a Pain in Da Arse ! ever try to lift one up there or get it down when you really need it ?
you have options !1 Get A bigger bottle Jack at Checker or where ever/ Get a baby floor Jack same Place / For Me the Best of Every thing Was to have a Bumper made ..It holds a 48" High lift , And Puts the spare in a accesible Position( ever try to get a spare out from under when you have a rear flat off road ??/ I also carry a large Bottle jack because Hi lift is only for really crappy situations and Hi lifts are dangerous if used wrong .

I have 32" tires and I think the bottle jack might make it to 33" but like Team said a baby floor jack.

I don't think the stock jack will work with the lift and larger tires. I find it barely has enough lift to change a tire in stock configuration, and some people over on yotatech are finding they can't even do that!

You have to put the stock jack in exactly the spot shown in the Owners Manual, or else it seems to be too short for even the stock wheels. If you're upsizing the wheels/tires, get a bigger jack.

heh... I dunno. It worked when I had 3/2 going on mine, but i had stock tire sizes. But the jack looks really, really not stable at those heights.

I have also thought about this. What about the stock jack from a Tundra or Sequoia? I know the tundra was taller and I assume the Sequoia as well.

Just a thought. I just haven't researched it enough really. I just figured I would throw it out there.

Team, I like the idea of the bumper for the high lift and spare. One of my concerns was haveing a lift, 33's, a baja rack with the spare on top and not being able to park in the garage (I think the spare on top might put my over, if not very close). The spare on the back would help with that.

bootown, the bottle jacks have always seemed a little dangerous to me, especially if I'm doing a change and I'm not on level ground. But that may not be a bad idea when in the garage.

I've heard people getting High lifts and the potential risk of not using them correctly... that would be me. I may go with the baby floor jack and if I decide to go with the rear bump (Which looks BADA$$, if you didn't already know), i would consider the high lift.

Team, how much did that bumper run you and from where?

i believe that bumper is a CBI & cost over 2g. it nice tho.

2G's!!! Ouch. It looks amazing and I'm sure it's worth the money, but when I read 2G's that was like having a hard-on and getting kicked square in the di**:dammit:.
