4runner TRD Pro

They mentioned dealer installed superchargers at the end...

They seem like nice trucks but not worth the fanfare and teasers they were putting out there. The TRD Pro 4Runner in Super White is pretty much my dream 4Runner off the factory floor. It is an S/C away from being absolutely perfect. My uncle has a Tacoma T|X Baja and the suspension really is a treat. Great ride, great composure on and off road. That suspension on the 4Runner should feel great under the 4Runner.*

The biggest downer is the fact that the Tacoma will soldier on for yet another year. Really disappointed to hear that they still aren't ready for the next gen.

* Yes, it will be more expensive than putting an aftermarket suspension on your 4Runner. I'm not the type that feels like messing with the suspension... and some of the unintended consequences that come along with it, so this type of package is tailor made for someone like me.

I heard him mention super charger and saw two different pictures when they showed the catalog. Think it will become available?

Anyone else try the game?

Interesting that they did not show under the hood of any of them, makes me wonder. whats going on with the 3:00 TRD event.

And on the game (that sucks super bad) one of the power ups is a super charger.

perhaps I am just holding on to a little hope, who knows.

Hahahahahahahahahahahhhahahaha!!!!!!

Man, a lot of people are going to be disappointed when this thing comes out. Absolutely no way I can see it having a V8 and very little chance of a SC. It'll probably have the wheels, maybe upgraded suspension and brakes, aluminum front skid, maybe rock rails, and the rest will just be bling. I see it more as being like a 4Runner version of the FJC TT. Can't get around those CAFE regulations...

Just sayin'...

As he pointed out, they pictured a sc when discussing dealer installed options. Wonder why they didn't do a power brake in the 4R. Oh yea, it only has a 6 cyl! Yup, no reason to change my current trail order. I can do any of that stuff on my own. And will do some of it.

I completely agree.. The white on black will look great. Not sure if the package enough for me to trade in the '13LE tho.

Im sure there's some Tacoma guys very bummed they will now have to wait to at least 2016 for a new model. That cycle is getting long in the tooth.

Initial specs show the 4Runner TRD Pro does not even get the TRD exhaust that the Tundra and Taco get. Also, the Taco only gets a 1/8" stamped "skid plate."

Meh to the whole thing. Like the wheels though. Funny they don't mention anything about the tires.

Wonder why the Taco gets stamped bs. Bet it will be Dunflops all around for tires. Can't have those soccer moms and need an ego boost bros getting a headache from tires humming lmao!

Very disappointing!!! Was really hoping the tundra could go head to head with the raptor.
No sliders on the 4R?
Tires are just silly!
Oh well...

Yeah, perfectly illustrates why we need competition in the segment. A 10 year old design holds 65% of the midsize market share. It is a good truck, but competition in the segment would make it a better truck. I'm sure the Tacoma is basically printing money for Toyota at this point. Things won't be so easy when they have Colorado/Canyon competition in the fall.

I just traded my '10 SR5 for a Rav4 last week so I can make room in the garage for a sports car for me when the Prius is gone (wifey doesn't like driving something as big as the 4Runner so he was the sacrificial lamb). If I get bored of sports cars, or a bigger garage, a used '15 4Runner TRD Pro will be what I'm looking for. Maybe they will have the S/C out by then.

They probably mean Superchargers are available for the Tundra and Tacoma which is true. I like the black TRD rims and that's probably it for me. Hoping the Black TRD rims on the Tundra fit on my Land Cruiser as well. Also funny on Tundra Talk they are complaining that the 4R gets a rear locker and they don't. Probably don't realize we've had rear lockers available all along!
