If they aren't already sold they will be locked away in the showroom.

Dealer here in Columbia MO had a Pro Tacoma in the showroom already sold. Checked it out while I was waiting on the wife's Rav 4. Sweet looking truck and off course they had a 2500 mark up on it hahaha.

The reason I started looking at the 4runner in the first place was because of the Pro. I liked that it looks a little bit lifted over a stock and then with the TRD rims. After finding this forum and finding out that it will not have a sunroof (no problem with the reduction in roof height since I am about an inch away from using a couple of books to see over the steering wheel and blocks on my shoes.), I think I could handle a lift or at least pay someone to do it. I had been counting the days until the truck was supposed to be in, but now it is out of dread instead of joy. I can't decide what to do.

the TRDP is perfect for me. i wouldn't be happy in a completely bone stock 4runner, but i'm also not interested in a highly modified vehicle. for the modifications you get in the TRDP, it's a fair price, the mods are engineered as a package, and are warrantied by toyota. for me, that's better than building gravedigger from a stock toyota, and i believe it strikes a happy medium between on and off road performance.

My vspec is attached, just got it from my dealer.

No sunroof, oh well. King Noob is right, my wifes car has a sunroof and I never use it. Also my Gobi rack will cover it up with the sunroof insert. SO now I can just leave that on all the time. No KDSS either. It does have RIgid Running Boards as an option, not really interested in those but I guess I will see what they look like.

Was informed it was expected in port 9/13.

not sure what you mean by "aren't anything special". yes, the mods you've listed are correct. you must have been expecting more. as i've said, the mods are perfect for my use, and what i want out of the vehicle. i don't want or need a highly lifted vehicle. i don't want or need 35" tires. etc.

I guess I don't see your point, you say you don't want a highly modified vehicle but the actual performance mods on the TRD pro are minimal, and none of which would be considered major mods on a non TRD. You can purchase the same nittos to put on, you can get a similar suspension setup as well.
Don't get me wrong, in terms of looks I love the TRD Pro, especially in the inferno, but its not really that special compared to a normal trail in terms of performance. The reason to purchase the TRD pro are basically for looks and cred though

i guess i'm speaking from personal experience. my current vehicle has a sunroof that rarely gets used, and i live in a very sunny climate (not always warm though). in any case, i'm surprised as it seems to be deal breaker for some.

It's kind of weird there is no sunroof. One of the best uses of my sunroof is clearing the exhaust smell out of the truck when driving with all windows down. That being said, had I not bought a 14 TEP I would definitely buy a Pro assuming it gets good reviews. With a daily driver nothing beats going to a dealer and saying fix this. That's what is so appealing about the Pro. There is nothing frugal about 4runners period let's not act like buying a Pro is some crazy desire for opulence when it's only slightly more expensive than a TEP and less than a Limited. Don't like it don't buy it. Enough people will regardless.

2. Residual Value
3. Done correctly, not by a bunch of internet heroes.

Looks and cred? Maybe for some but some know better.

im a little sad that the TRD pro doesnt have kdss (but then again i dont know if theres really a difference with or without kdss...time to research!) Not too big of a deal for me that there is no sunroof.

KDSS has no controls, thats the crawl control and multi-trac

Let me rephrase; has Toyota made KDSS and multitrack available separately? I thought multitrack used the KDSS system to increase/decrease torsion on sway bar.

In my search for TE's the multitrack wasn't available when KDSS wasn't included, maybe it was just coincidence.

KDSS is completely passive it does not turn on when you use crawl control, 4x4, etc. It is its completely own system. It is always working.

Yes it has sensors in the system since the hydraulic system is filled with high pressure and the stabilizer control ECU controls the solenoid valves according to the digital inputs from the senors in the system. This determines how much the valves should open/close.
