My black TRDP has been waiting at the dealership for me to pick up since Tuesday. I left for Costa Rica Monday and all I have been seeing all week are 4Runners, Hilux and Land Rovers. I can't hardly go an hour without being reminded of what I have waiting for me at home. I am so ready to drop the cashier's check on the desk, sign a little paperwork and start adding more T4R memories to the vault. I've been looking forward to having a 4WD 4Runner for almost 17 years after getting a 2WD '97 4Runner for graduation. After 15 years of faithful service and 200k miles, I finally parted ways with the old girl 2 years ago and I have had withdraws ever since. I promise to post pictures after I pick it up Monday morning. Lots of mods planned for the future, so I will keep everyone updated. I want to thank everyone on this forum for the informative posts and clearing up any questions that I could possibly have. I researched purchasing a TEP for many months but the dealerships I visited couldn't find one that fit all of my requirements without ordering. I decided to go ahead and order the TRDP because of all the great posts on this site and video reviews I found across the web from offroad enthusiasts. Hopefully we will cross paths on the road or trails soon.
P.S. - Might have been crazy, but I had a sunroof installed. That might be a first for the TRDP's.

I was thinking of doing that same thing...but I would get one with the real nice shade screen.
You'll have to let me know what you think of it and where you had the work done/what brand of sunroof.
Is it a manual or is it electric?

I took my 2010 4Runner in to the dealership yesterday for warranty work as it was the very last day of my 5 year/100k warranty .I bought it 10/30/09 so 5 years old today! The transfer case front seal was leaking and the front bearings were making noise so it sits at the dealership now on it's birthday until it gets fixed ,while they gave me a loaner Camry.
While I was waiting I went and inquired about ordering a Inferno Red TRD PRO. The Inferno's were built and on the ship on the way from Japan expected in port within the next couple of weeks.He said I would have it by the end of the year.They said they could get me a black or white one next week .
The best price they would give me was $1000 under msrp with mandatory money down and wouldn't bite on the straight up $40k I offered.Probably could have had had them meet me in the middle at 40.6k or throw in some extras to make the deal if I was really serious about it. Mind you I've bought my last two 4runners there and know the sales manager but anybody should get this price if you negotiate with enough dealers,at least in this region. The msrp on the ones coming to the Gulf states region is $42,410 with just the sliding deck option.
This is for the attitude black that was ordered by someone but the reds are built the same he said.
And the quote they gave me...

They were AMAZING tires in the snow/ice up to around 50,000 miles. After that they start losing their major bite and traction. They aren't the longest life tire for snow/ice. For the price I'd probably go a different route (?).
That being said that was 10 years ago. I'm not sure if they changed their compound/layering since then.

Took it into about 4 inches is stale upstate NY snow in an unpaved area and I didn't have to even shift it to 4H. I was trying to get stuck. Will try next time there is heavy powder over 8 inches.

Great pics!
Your close-up of the front does point out the one part of the design that I just still think doesn't look very good. The part from the foglight area with the black "apostrophy" looking shape up under the headlight. It's just really odd they settled on that design/look.:der:

Hi all -- I'm new to the forum, but have been lurking for a bit. Seems like a great community, and I'm excited to be on board.
I put a deposit down on a TRDP in Inferno on Saturday 11/10, and got an update from my dealer on Friday the 26th.
They said they have a black one allocated, but are working to get it switched to "my" order (Inferno with the sliding cargo floor).
Based on folk's experience here and the timing of my order, do you think I'll even have a chance of getting this?

I recognize all the trails you were on. This area is my playground. I live just south of where you were in Lake Havasu City. There are miles of nice trails around here. Got to love the open BLM land out west.

For anyone looking for a TRD Pro... There is a White one at the Toyota Dealer in Bel Air, MD (Jones Junction). The service manager said it has not been sold yet. It's just chillin' on the rocks out in front of the dealer. On a side note... it was extremely difficult to walk away from it. I do not like white trucks. The Inferno Red TRD Pro Tundra parked next to it, I nearly took for a test drive.
