Just picked up my '14 SR5. Dealer told me something about a liftkit with blocks. $900 installed. Good idea? Any downsides? I basically just want the look of the '15 TRD Pro. Just the front end needs lifting and not the back correct?

Just picked up my '14 SR5. Dealer told me something about a liftkit with blocks. $900 installed. Good idea? Any downsides? I basically just want the look of the '15 TRD Pro. Just the front end needs lifting and not the back correct?

Personally, NOT a fan on any level of spacers (blocks as you say). That is the cheap route and not nearly as stable in general IMHO. Spacers will sag over time as they stretch out your coils vs. a proper suspension lift.

here's my thoughts on color -

black is nice, but IMO there's not enough contrast between the paint and the black TRD accents/wheels....it all kinda blends together too much. and black is the absolute worst color in terms of showing imperfections (dings, scratches, etc.) and dirt.

the orange would contrast very nicely with the black and is really going to pop, but for me personally, i was concerned that it was a little too loud and that the novelty factor would wear off and i'd then be stuck with an orange truck. however, i've heard great things about the flake of the inferno and how it changes (depending on lighting) from a bright orange to a deeper, almost red color. sounds cool.

the white contrasts nicely with the black accents, is the easiest color to keep clean, hides imperfections nicely, and there's zero risk of it being too obnoxious.

i went with white.

Somewhat more since it has locking diff, more expensive shocks and tires.

I hardly need a regular t4r so i didn't go with the pro model.

I completely agree! White here! Imo, orange will get old unless you are a nascar fan.

We placed an order for the Inferno (orange). Mostly just because we like the color a lot. We did see the color in person on a Tundra and a Tacoma.

Another factor what that it's a color exclusive to the TRD Pro line, so it couldn't be confused with a Trail.

Wow you are getting yours fast! Good for you! Mine won't be in the US until the end of the month, which means I won't get it until about mid-Jan.

Stick with the Inferno. It is going to be a great color to have. As previously mentioned, I really like the fact that it changes colors between orange and red depending on lighting. I think the color is really going to pop out in the wild while camping, exploring, and 4wheeling.

My thoughts exactly - I think you hit the nail on the head with this one.

My fear is that I might end up stuck with an orange truck despite its unique and great looking inferno color.

However, the white to me looks like a flat "washer machine" white without any metallic.

Black is OK looking, but it looks like a military or FBI vehicle.

Nope. Normal low speed with or without breaking IN reverse. BUT I never pull in driveway forward, so will need to do that to see if it does it then. Mostly no breaking. My LE never made a noise like this. Literally, clunk!
I have an appointment for a deflector on Friday, will see what they say. I'm not worried as I think it will be fixable. Everything else is great!

It has seemingly magically disappeared the last few days! Shall see if it last, for now good.

actually not really/ because i did a trade theres a tax brake that saved me about 2k as well. i was going to put down what i thought i could sell my tacoma for but after all the math it came out about even because the tax difference when i trade in.

My dealership guy called me today and he halfway freaked me out! He said that "the Inferno TRD Pro 4Runners slated for the midwest aren't coming."...then he paused as he was interrupted by someone in the background....then he continued to say "with the sliding cargo tray installed". I could have punched someone!

I'm thinking that this is probably going to be installed at the port like other options or else the dealership will have to install it.

Any guesses?

Doubt it's an add-on, big difference in the cargo area of 4r's with verses without cargo tray.
