4runner TRD Pro

Hit tincup pass in Colorado. Had two guys in Heeps tell me to turn around because they hit bottom. No way I was turning and did not hit bottom once. Sorry did not get pics of the hardest spots concentrating and using my crawl control.

Great day Wheelin in Colorado today!

I concur -- I drug my GF and Dad up to Piney Lake, then hit some of the side, logging roads along the way, noting a few, easy trails I need to hit next time (Red&White, etc.). My old mtn bike racing/training days came to mind and it was sad to realize that there is NO WAY (these days) I could ride up half of the trails I used to hit weekly as a youth. But the 4Runner can easily make it where my legs and lungs would fail. ;-)

One one section, I was getting a little rear tire slip, and my dad was just joking, "how much did you spend for this fancy thing" when I locked the diff and motored right up the part he thought we couldn't make.

CO folks, esp. Denver and Vail area -- please PM me and let me know if any of you get together regularly to wheel together.

2 TRD PROs AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW

Hi Everyone.

As I was driving past a local dealership I noticed two on the lot of a local dealership.

The dealership is CONICELLI TOYOTA in NORRISTOWN, PA

They have a pre-owned super white with under 3,000mi - asking $48,967

They also have a brand new inferno - asking $42,679

Not sure why there is such a massive price gap between the used and new. I called the dealership today to talk to a sales rep and she's telling me the white one has more accessories on it (which is BS). They are both the same.

But for those of you out there who are interested, i thought i'd post this.

They said they have one more being built now and its being shipped soon.

Thought these were supposed to be super rare? Maybe they are ramping up production?

My sales guy at the dealership i went to said that they are already telling people they won't be getting any more in for months.

anyway, there you have it.

Thanks for the heads up. I have a friend who is looking for a TRD Pro.

Where is the carnage?
Passenger rear mainly. I roughed up my rear bumper and a tree tried to hang on, so I've got a pretty good scrape by the rear side window. Oh, a tree also decided to make an attempt of pulling off my rear gravel guard. I had to reinstall half of it.
And there is a small stick penetrating the mudflap. It's literally stuck in it. I didn't take any pics of that. I also pulled the exhaust loose, but that was an easy fix. Good times on her first round of Bridgeport.

That's not dirt! Lol

I actually started a thread with the same issue. (http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-g...ement-dash-kit-trd-reference-black-paint.html)

And I'm looking at a similar head unit (AVH-4100NEX). Please message me if you find a solution! And I will do the same.

Having the 8100NEX installed on Monday.. I'll post pics to show what it looks like. They said they can come 90% to original color with paint of original dash. My fallback is to take it to an autobody shop and have them do it. I contemplated doing the clean sweep , but was talked out of it by the guys at the shop given my preference for pure sound and taking 100% advantage of the new speakers/subs I have in it.

Any reason why you're going with the 4100NEX? I'm assuming to just use the mirror and use your phone for map? I thought about that too, but worried about certain areas that I dont get service for sometimes and having the built in nav as a backup since I'll probably use WAZE most of the time anyways.

After briefly reading people's concerns about ride height, I just measured my rides height and it's the following:

35" front driver
36" front pass
37" both sides of the rear

Had an Icon Stage 4 installed today:

Front 39 7/8”
Rear 40 1/8”

I think that 1/4” difference isn’t going to be that noticeable especially when I load the cargo in.

Went with the Tubular UCA’s and the 2.0 LT Coilovers in the front and the 2.5 Piggy Backs with Overland Springs in the rear.

Wasn’t at all impressed with the Billstein performance (seemed a bit soft when on the rocks & super soft in the sand); ride height was going to be a little short when adding 285’s; definitely going to cause some issues (rubbing, topping out in the wells. etc)

Completed Install

Finished it up today with the new tires courtesy of Discount Tires.com who price matched them from TireRack plus threw in a free (4 for price of 3) warranty on the tires. Brave MotorSports in Houston did the install and Dave is the man; dealt with him before and he’s as professional and knowledgable as they come.
