4runner TRD Pro

It was hard to say goodbye to the 3rd gen... but I sold it to my brother-in-law with first rights to buy it back...

...and finally picked up the new runner... couldn't be happier.

Nice to see some old friends from the FJ forum now owners of 4Runners. Wife saw a black one today...so I am back in the market. Might wait for the 2016. Any known changes?

Mainly color changes for the 2016 TRD Pro as compared to 2015...Black and Inferno have been replaced with Magnetic Gray and some sort of khaki color...White carries over as the third exterior paint option.

I'm running a Icon Stage 4 with LT Coilover fronts (58647) tubular UCA's, reservoirs in the rear (57810C), Overland Springs (52800), and new LCA's in the rear.

That's a sweet set up.

Surprised to see those willing to completely swap out the TRDP suspension so soon though.

I may (who am I kidding, will) do the same at some point, but will wait until 50-60K miles.

Black won't be an option for 2016, neither Inferno I believe. It's going to be Grey, Khaki and White possibly.

Good to see you on here too.

I love the stance it has now, before it really didn't have that unique feel over a regular T4R other than the interior. Now it stands above and out from the rest. I need to get some 1" spacers and bump up to 35's next summer. Then I'll probably be happy. But we'll see how the KO2's perform on the 29th out in Fredericksburg on the winery tour....

Thx for the info. My Rubicon is similar to the Magnetic Gray. The Khaki sounds interesting, but would have to be identical to the old school Dune Beige before I would be interested.

S. Wilson, is that you? The man that sold me to the Trd pro!! Ha

Cougar!
LoL, yes. Debbie has given me the thumbs up. She wants the black and I am leaning towards the Gray. Not in any real hurry so I will probably wait and see them side by side...and she will tell me which one I can have.

FYI -- black will not be offered on the 2016 model Pro's, so it's gonna be kinda difficult seeing a new 2015 black and new 2016 gray one side by side on a lot.

That's awesome! Good luck on the hunt! Let me know if you want a test drive. :-)
I should have my left within the next few months. [emoji2]

I had a 2016 Magnetic Gray TRD Pro on order and received a call from my dealer that Toyota will only send white and khaki exterior colors over for the first 2016 batches of TRD Pros. The Toyota rep was unsure of when the magnetic grays will be coming over and it could be sometime after January.

Since I had my heart set on either an Altitude Black (discontinued in 2016) or Magnetic Gray, I was very excited to identify one of the last, new, and unclaimed 2015 Altitude Blacks in the country and immediately pounced on it. It was about 300 miles away but well worth the trip and experience. I am absolutely loving the truck so far and have already put about 700 highway miles on it.

My truck did not come with the factory running boards and I would like to add them to assist elderly family members accessing the vehicle from time to time. I understand the trade-off with "mud collection" which occurs when off-roading.

I was wondering what the best side step/nerf bar option is specifically for the TRD Pro stock suspension fitment?
1. Preference on brand? Westin? N-fab? other?
2. Size? 4", 3", 2"?
3. Are these plug-n-play or will I need spacers and/or possibly welding?

Thanks in Advance...here are a couple of quick pics:

^Looks great. For steps there are some options and pretty much all are plug and play. Before I decided to go to a slider instead of a step I was planning on going with the N-Fab wheel to wheel step bars. There are 2 sets for sale here in the classified section (no affiliation with either sellers, just making you aware.)
Congrats and enjoy!

Thanks so much...I have been doing a fair amount of research on nerf bars/sliders and am leaning towards the Shrockworks Dimpled Tread Plate Sliders

^Yes, that seems to be the biggest issue...It appears to be a 5 week minimum wait time. Is there a particular slider you are leaning towards?

Mine get used all the time for entry/exit and they look and work great. Still loving my Attitude Black.
