Vibration and shaking 60-70 mph, anyone have this issue ? It's kind of annoying and I'm about to have the dealership check it out again

Yes, my Tundra did it and it drove me NUTS! So, with that said I have a friend that owns a tire shop and when I spoke to him about it he told me with confidence that it was due to where the weights are supposed to be placed on the wheels for Toyota's. He said they are supposed to be in the middle of interior of the wheel (rim) and if they are not placed there it will cause this shaking. He said many shops try to use the clamp on weights that clip to the edge of the wheel and that this was wrong. My guess is that maybe you lost one or something along that line. I have no clue if the information is factual, but he seemed quite sure that this was the cause of this issue. Hope this helps, good luck.

I'm wondering if it isn't the tires flat-spotting overnight.

i've experience the vibration and it normally comes first drive of the day and then goes away. I'm also thinking they are flat spotting.

the tires seem soft to me - I can also tell a big difference in air pressure. dealership always sets them to 36 and the ride is harsh. 32 as stated on the door jamb is much better.

I also seem to remember seeing somewhere that the Nittos were chosen for the pro due to them being softer to compensate for the different suspension. I read it on the internet so it must be true.... ;-)

Hahaha ... So what I'm hearing is get the 2 inch leveling kit and throw some 33 BFGs on there and no more issue... It's this kind of rationale that my wife loves... Thanks [emoji106]

Btw... Forgot to post pics of the 8100NEX install, sounds 10x better now Than the crappy stock system ! The paint match isn't perfect but it's not that noticeable

Two things:

1) I had more slip-n-slide adventures on the Nittos over the past few days (cold temps, snow and ice), so I got some Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2s installed yesterday. I'm headed up to ski in a few and will report back on snow handling, etc. later.

2) The shop mounted and balanced the tires on the stock TRD rims. Rim weights are inside, just behind the spokes. I *still* am getting vibration between 58 and 63 MPH. I'm going to check my Spidertrax spacers Wednesday to make sure they aren't the culprit. I may remove them to test. The tire shop checked the torque on the spacers yesterday, BTW, so I'm probably going to take them off and put them back on to ensure they are centered.

I went by the local dealer and found a TRD Pro in the back lot and asked about it, turns out the guy who ordered didn't qualify for the loan, so I was at the right place right time to buy it. Now I have 2 4Runners

Turn it to full lock and when it's tucked it'll rub. I have a 3" lift and we still had to lose them.

My trail grapplers turned my front mudflaps into the equivalent of trading cards between your wheel spokes.

Full lock on the streets it clears just fine... I'll go out to some spots tomorrow and see what happens when it's tucked in there. I think the trail grapplers measure a hair larger than the duratracs if I recall.

It's fine if you're crawling malls, but you'll likely need to lose them. They don't do enough anyways to worry. Frankly the trail will remove any unneeded parts anyways.

Picked up my TRD Pro

I put a deposit down two months ago for the first Pro to hit the dealer--Quicksand was coming first. From every picture I saw I was sure I was going to hate the color. Not to be. Surprised how much I like Quicksand after seeing it detailed and ready to go.

So...I traded in my 2014 Trail with KDSS and I couldn't be happier.

I purchased my inferno a few months ago and was faced with the decision of the inferno now, or quicksand in a few months... once I saw the inferno in person, I couldn't say no. Haven't seen the quicksand on a pro in person yet.

My nittos have been awesome in the snow. Took my TRD pro to winter park, copper, and leadville this weekend and it did awesome. Did part of argentine pass until it got 4-5 feet deep 3 weeks ago. No issues, very surprising, and I'm not in a rush to put new BFG's on anymore like if I got a 4Runner with Duelers.

I like the look of Quicksand - one is about to show up at the dealer so I can see it in person. Do you feel the TRD Pro drives any better or different on the asphalt than the KDSS? It also sits about 1.5" higher - did you notice that over your 2014? Any other differences (aside from aesthetics)?
