Getting my 4Runner serviced at the dealer. They have a Quicksand Pro on the sales floor. I tweeted a pic of it and my buddy replied "they should have called it "Beige Against the Machine."" [emoji23]

Lol. I've been calling it FDE.

I just had shrockwork's bumper installed - does anyone know if the TRD skid plat is supposed to work in conjunction with the shrockwork's skid that comes with the bumper?

I just put a deposit on mine today. On the lot in Montana - will need to ship it to CA

Wow. You had to order one from Montana? Were you not able to find one in CA or did you get a screaming deal? I have one on order in CA for which I'm paying MSRP.

On another note, does anyone know if all 4Runners are 50 state emissions compliant? Otherwise CA would not allow you to register the car in state.

Is your TRD lifted? It looks a bit higher? I have the same running boards/rock sliders. Will post pics once it stops raining in Seattle - probably July.

Yes - a wee bit of a lift. I put in the toytec trd pro 2" leveling kit with the back springs swapped out for the SAW 1.5" to comp for the weight of the bumper. Not sure the back springs really only gave me a 1.5" lift though - ended up with a lot more rake angle then I hoped for. I still have a Gobi rack that is going on which is MIA due to the flooding here in houston - going to wait to let everything settle and see what the weight of the rack does but I may very well end up swapping the back springs back to the factory ones to get rid of the rake.

FYI I also answered my own question about the skid plate - it doesn't jive with the shrockworks bumper - I may be able to cut some of the top lip off of it...bend it up a little and get a couple longer bolts and get it on.

Shockworks has an engine skid that replaces the TRD skid....which they failed to mention and IMHO they should include on the bumper order page of their web site so idots like yours truly will know the TRD skid becomes a giant ash tray after the install.

Right now I'm thinking I should have invested in a snorkel instead of the bumper and lift!

Here's the lift:

swapped back springs for these in the kit:
