4runner TRD Pro

Anyone get tints done on their TRDP in the Denver area? The Dallas dealer put some tints on the front but they are not matching the tints in the back. I would also like the backs to be slightly darker (20%) but some of the local tint shops are suggesting they can't get it any darker due to the factory tint.

I have my G37X with 20% all around and it looks great, and I would like to get my 4Runner to look that. Any advice is welcome.

This may or may not be helpful. I went with 30% ceramic tint up front and it matches the factory tint very well. My tint shop also said they can't tint the rears because the factory tint is "embedded into the glass via ink within the glass layers" (I have no idea if that's true or not). All they could do was tint over the existing tint, but would not offer any guarantees on adhesion, color, or visibility, which are things they normally cover.

my truck was supposed to hit port this Friday....supposedly delayed ten days. anyone get a delay of delivery to the port or am I about to get the run around on this truck?

my dealer said mine would hit port 3/15 (last wednesday). as of saturday they say they have no update and don't know if it arrived or not. i'm sure thats BS. i think its laziness. sure wish the demand wasn't so high for the pro because so far my first toyota purchase has been far less enjoyable than i would expect.

I got 35% all around. The place I went had no issue tinting over the factory tint on all windows. Came out great!

Mine landed on March 6th. Still in Portland. Seems its been taking about 3 weeks to get out of Portland and to the dealer per others on this thread.

Tint shops should have no problem tinting over factory tint

You gotta just forget about it lol.. You'll go nuts waiting for delivery.

Ask dealer for dealer daily screen shot.

Finally got out to the desert to see the "Super Bloom" in Anza Borrego. Good day out in the runner.

Wow. Great looking vehicles guys! My cement TRD pro should be being built a week from today! Out of curiosity, who's has come with the sliding cargo trey in the back? The spec sheet doesn't have it listed, but my dealer couldn't confirm whether or not mine will have it. Hopefully it doesn't!

It seems to be a regional accessory. If you can build your vehicle specs without the cargo tray on the Toyota website using your home zip, it likely won't be included.

I also don't want it, and it's a mandatory accessory in SoCal, so I ordered one from the Bay area.

I'm hoping for delivery this week (hit port 3/6).

Our 4Runners are coming off the line pretty close to one another. The T4R I am committed to was ordered by somebody else, who ultimately ended up going with a Tundra. I went through the options with the dealership's sales manager and was told the rear cargo deck was not standard. In other words, it would be listed under the "optional equipment" section towards the end of the spec sheet.

Hope this helps, looking forward to taking delivery here soon!!

I took the truck out this weekend and tested it all out in every condition I could. Drove 70miles to the coast on logging roads. Tried all of the 4wd controls in mud and snow and up some pretty steep hills. Got to the coast and tried it on the sand. I've gotta say it's impressive. On seriously bad dirt roads it handled really well and actually rode almost as smooth as my old 70 Buick Electra did. The suspension is great. Only things so far that I don't like about it is I wish it had a power rear liftgate and there is a pretty good blind spot on the drivers side. Pretty minor stuff that I'll get used to (the liftgate was my girls complaint, I honestly could care less). Gotta figure out the navigation though....navigate to Depoe Bay = find the nearest chipotle!

Wait until you have to move the sun visor. That is one of my biggest design complaints. I love my TRD Pro but man, the sun visor sucks when you swing to the driver window. It hits the handle and if you use the extension it is right in your face.

My dealership said they anticipate delivery to be the last week of March - first week of April. What's the dealer daily screen shot? Is this an easy thing to request from dealers?

Thanks!

It's shows where it's at when it left where it's going etc.. They just do a screen shot of the web page they access and send to you

Unfortunately, I'm 6'3" and if I put a sun visor down in any car it blocks the entire windshield from my view!!! Oh, and I live in Oregon. What exactly are sun visors for? We only use windshield wipers here.

Haha! I am 6'5" but live in SoCal. When you have to pan the visor to the driver door to block side light is what I am talking about. It sucks!
