That said, the off roads out there that I've seen with the Pro appearance package end up just about as much as the Pros. I'm not paying over MSRP for a Pro and if the two are withing a couple grand of each other, I'm certainly going for the exclusivity of the Pro.

Due to a house fire and the loss of my vehicle, I am looking to immediately purchase a new Black 2018 4R TRD Pro for MSRP without crazy dealer fees.
According to my local dealer, there isn't one in Florida. I am willing to drive anywhere in the SE US. Any leads?

Go to a dealer that wants your business. They can find you a black pro within 5 minutes. They can pull up every single one in the country. Within about 10 minutes they can also tell if there’s ones on a truck headed to a dealer which they can easily reroute and they can see if one is on a boat headed to port or even one on the assembly line. So if you’re gonna pay MSRP make the dealer work for you. Find a smaller dealer that’s wants to sell cars to make a high quota for kickbacks and they’ll be glad to serve you. If not, I just stopped workin at a dealer here in Louisiana that would love to do business with you.

I liked the Pro until I did a little research of my own and found it to be an appearance package on the trail. You would think that with the name “Pro” there would be something more off-road professional about it. Guess not. Heck I’m willing to bet most people with a Pro would be outdriven by someone in an SR5.
It too bad Toyota couldn’t offer a front and rear e-locker on the SR5. Now that’s what a real enthusiast is going to want. Then spend the extra cash saved on some real “PROfessional” off-road parts.

I got my 18 TRDP because since I drove it off the lot I haven’t had to spend a dime to alter the body appearance, tires, wheels, or suspension to get the truck to look and perform the way I want. And bumper to bumper she’s covered by a factory warranty. She was def worth the MSRP I paid for her!
I contemplated buying a off road and then spending some $ to get the body and wheels and tires and suspension, but I came to the conclusion that if I was going to buy a truck just to mod it to look and perform like another, than I should just buy the other truck.

You got that right Matra, if I was I wouldn't be blowing all this money on the 4. However, I do try to be relatively smart with it and I saw early on that I was eventually going to be replacing most of the appearance package items. So I bought the same vehicle without the huge markup.

Im looking at a 2015 4runner trd pro, in white w/ 30k miles for $35k. To me it seems like a good deal. Its a one owner, and has all oil changes and about $10k cheaper than a new one. Or I could get a new trd premium for like $38kish, but I like the pro. its pretty much just good to go. is the trd pro price ok?

Which one do you prefer? The biggest thing about the Pro is the upgraded suspension. You can either buy a new premium and upgrade suspension to whatever you want or if you’re satisfied with the Pro as is then go that route. I know it’s not much of an answer but it really comes down to what you want to get out of it. You can’t go wrong either way. In this forum there are also hater and Pro lovers. Get what you want life is too short.

Dealer drilled lovely holes in front air deflector valance for license plates on trd pro...:bash: ( still don't understand why they cant do it after they sell the car and not before ) Anyways, does anyone know how to replace that peace ? is it hard process? Do i need to remove the whole front bumper for that? I know it has 17 clips but I'm not sure if i can just remove them and reuse them for new valance.

I respect your opinion and that’s one way to look at it and it does make sense. The way I looked it at was that I paid MSRP for my 2017 Cement (44K). I know that in a few years my pro will be worth more than an SR5 with the upgrades and that’s where I will make my money. If I decide to sell. Also, that’s the financial aspect of it. If money is not an issue, then have fun and spend your money however you want. Just my opinion but again, I respect your opinion too.
