4Runner won't start after I fill tank

Hey guys,

I've been having problems with my 91 4Runner V6 not starting. It seems to happen only when I fill my gas tank. It will turn over but the engine won't fire, and it won't start until you let it sit for a day or two. I'm thinking that maybe there is a problem with the fuel line or that by filling it fully it floods the engine. I haven't tried filling the gas tank 3/4 of the way yet because I just figured out that it does this when I fill the tank. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are you making sure to screw the gas cap on all the way (at least 3 clicks)?

Isn't there something about having the gas cap not on or having a faulty gas cap that can cause problems?

Yeah I always make sure the gas cap is on tightly so that's not the problem.

I'm wondering if your EVAP system is allowing gas to flood the engine.

Try filling it up and holding the gas pedal all the way to the floor while cranking the engine. If it starts, you know that your problem is due to flooding.

Tried that too and it still doesn't start. I've ruled out the cold causing it to not start as well because it was -15 this morning and although it took 3 or 4 seconds it started. I have a friend who is a tech for Toyota and he asked around and no one has ever heard of this happening only when the tank is full.
