4Runnin photos from the mountains of NC

Spent the weekend in the mountains of NC and snapped a few shots with my iPhone. Sorry... no hardcore offroading, but still a few cool photos IMHO. Man... even just some backroad trails in the moutains are a ton of fun for me after getting so used to my other car (a track-spec Honda S2000).

We hit up places in Pisgah - Black Mountain, Old NC 105, and Linville Gorge. How about you?

Our cabin was right on the outskirts of West Jefferson. We go every year in mid-October. We also spent some time around Linville Falls and Linville Gorge.

BTW... whenever you are near Linville, you have GOT to eat at Pappy's BBQ. We left very fat and happy.

The colors in Western NC, especially high altitude are perfect right now. Some shots are only so so because a lot of trees have dropped, but there are a TON of shots that the colors are perfect.

You can see in this shot with my Nikon. A few bare trees in the bottom left kinda dulls the shot a bit, but the blue sky with all the colors is amazing right now. No photoshop/touching on this shot. Just a circular polarizing lens.
