I wish mine weren't welded on. I need to repaint them and it is a huge PIA with my current setup.

Well I'm at 167,362 miles and this 4Runner sucks all the money out of my wallet every other friday when I get paid...
Today I drove down to 67 Truck and picked up a sunroof motor for $40. (I have no idea what I would have done if [MENTION=92510]Ol'Blue[/MENTION] didn't tell me about that place a couple months ago)
Then I installed it, which was pretty easy, just pull the seats, the "Oh Sh*t" handles, the sunroof controls, the mirror, and both visors. Then you can pull the headliner down about 5 inches, which is enough to remove the 3 bolts holding it in place. Now my sunroof works again!
Now that I'm done with one problem this stupid truck breaks again. Now it won't start. It just clicks. I push started it to go to work, and then after work it did the same thing.
God I hate this thing.

Just clicks ..... Dude that's your battery for sure.
Upgrade the bat neg to chassis ground to 4G and also install a new battery.
Also could be battery terminals. Man mine were crap at 210k when I replaced them last summer.

Nope. Starter solenoid. Battery is brand new and so are terminals. I'm hoping it's just a loose connection from off-road shenanigans and air time.

Might be starter contacts too - is it a single click with a key turn, or multiple "low voltage" clicks?

I've got a dedicated piece of cardboard, with cutouts for the slider legs, that I slide right between the body and the sliders. Makes touch up paint really quick

I just bought contacts. Waiting for my exhaust to cool down so I can pull the starter.

One click is a better sign of it being the starter contacts. When mine started to go out, I was able to turn the key a few times and after a few clicks it would usually catch and start.

Ok good. It was really awkward push starting my car in front of my boss at work yesterday, and then just now at the Toyota dealership hahaha

lol, classy.. At least you have that ability. I was stranded for like 3 hours in the wilderness cus of my stupid f'n starter. Now I have a nice brand new shiny one that hopefully I'll will not have to touch or even look at for a loooonngg while. On the bright side though, the 2" body lift sure makes the removal a walk in the park.
BTW, are the sliders on yet or what?

I removed the wires on it, and I just managed to unbolt the bracket that connects the exhaust and the tranny. Two more bolts and the starter will be in my hands.
New Starter Theory:
Soooo my starter is absolutely covered in ATF from when my power steering pump blew a seal a couple weeks ago... I'll take it apart, replace the contacts and clean everything, and hopefully it works...

Replaced the Starter contacts, it was actually really easy to do, even by myself. That seems to have solved my starting issues, but we'll see in the morning. Cold starts are the worst.

I drove 2 hours each way to pick these up (Yes it came with another one)

Looked just like my sliders when I had mine installed not too long ago.. love the work they do over there@savage... wish I could say I was as happy with the" work" they did over at Perkins but I'm over it now..
