4Running Daily's Build Thread

I bought Wheelers bumpstops just now. I'll probably upgrade to 650 coils this summer, or just go to King coil overs.

I have some 650lb Icons for sale... Not sure if the 3" diameter would work on the toytec setup? If you want to call Icon or Toytec and ask, I'd let them go for cheap... Tired of looking at them.

So if I re-gear to 4.88's and keep the air locker in the rear, it's $1700. Or I can get a spartan in the front for a total of $2000.

heres my advice...

just keep the rear locker. if you want a front locker you will want it to be selectable. id say 90% of what i do i can do with a rear locker. that extra 10% yeah not worth having a full time locker/auto locker up front, its just a convenience for me. you can not control auto lockers, and imo the stress it will put on things is not worth the $300 it will cost you. your out in the desert running open/flat type trails where speed is more of a thing than crawling -at least from what i have seen, and the types of trucks you wheel with. your rear locker will get you anywhere you want to or need to go. honestly i only put my ARB up front for two reasons, one its a much stronger carrier and spyder gear set up and two i got a good deal on it(a good friend works for ARB). is a bonus that it locks to me and i can put it to use, but i have yet to come to something where i have absolutely needed it for and only used it 3 times where i made a difference and two of those times was this past weekend with Bill Burke and his class.

save that money and use if for gas. if you just must have a front locker, ARB or a trutrac is the only way to go IMO.

Does Auburn make lockers for Toyota's? My cousin has one of those e-lockers in his XJ. Never seen one in a toyota though.

I'm excited for your bigger tires. Don't get the fiberglass though. Just trim yours.

On your new Rear Upper Control Arms. If one let's go the whole thing goes to #$#@&.

I'd say the chances of it letting go due to a loose bolt after reinstall are higher than chances of the factory one just snapping. 4RipCord had that issue. His replaced R-UCA came loose and everything went out from there.
