Ya my suspension set-up is 881 Without top out spacers and 906 in the back.
My tires are 265/70r16

Are you going to release / de-attach one of the sway bar links when you go wheeling?
Despite what I said about "on-road safety", I still plan on wheeling with the sway bar disconnected on 1 side.
IMO, Safer to be sway disconnected when off-road but reconnected when in the city.

Bad week for the 4Runner.
My Driver's door handle stopped opening the door.
I had a taillight go out.
My e-brake broke.
I've now fixed all of those.
On a happy note I drove home from Palm Springs with cruise control set on 75-80 mph and averaged 20.6 mpg! Makes me wonder what I would get if I slowed down...

I'd rather have my 3rd gen 4runner than 98% of what is out there on the road now. No mall crawlers please.
If you want to complain, find the BMW 330 your family sold to Brian, who promptly ditched it, and try to own it for another 11 years. Then s*$t will be one of many four letter fouled words uttered from your mouth during ownership.
My trip to the Matterhorn this summer is going to be one expensive tour.

speaking of BMWs, my coworker told me has had about $6500 worth work done under warranty on his 08' 335 since he bought it.
now I'm a Lexus person
The car isn't quite as fun but I"m pretty sure it won't fall apart before 100k miles.

I drove a 335 the other day has a loaner car. SOO much fun! It was great for all of two days. Pretty sure it would have broken in a week, but it was fast non the less. haha

This picture is just awesome. It's really nice to think that people go out and buy a new car and keep it up so they can pass it down to their kids. My daughter is 18 and I never really had anything worth passing down to her

HELP ME SPEND MY MONEY
All to be done by the end of the year:
- Billies 5100 and Eibach coils up front
-5100 in the rear along with superflex coils hopefully
-Savage sliders (Soon)
I want 35's basically because they are BA. However, the realistic side of me says that KM2's 255/85's look way more BA and I wouldn't have to re-gear or get a body lift.

305/70's or 285/75's will be a tad easier on the gears and still give you the 'mud width' ! You've got a few options to play around with! If height is the main concern, try the mtr's, which run taller than other options in the same size rating

Maybe this is my best option.
I am only 16. By the time I get tires I'll be 17. I know once I get up on 35's I'll want to re-gear. Re-gear money isn't happening at my age. I stuck my buddies 33's on a couple months ago. The difference was minimal, so I'm not too concerned about power and 33's especially with a 5 speed.
I don't really like 305's or 285's. They're too wide for my set-up.
255's are growing on me.

Once you get 35s you should be good to go for 4 wheel'n around soCal.
I think they will look awesome, girls will love them for sure, social status in HS a huge +1
Trail wise I think you would be fine with the 33s.

That's the thing though. A 255/85/16 is 33.5" Tall and say I get an exactly 35" tire to. The ground clearance difference is 3/4ths of an inch. Is that 3/4ths of an inch worth the price of re-gearing and a body lift. I don't think it is. I'm pretty confident that, with the appropriate armor, I could conquer close to any trail in California.
Everyone at my High School already thinks my 4Runner is awesome! Everyone wants to go wheeling with me all the time! How could you not love it when I post photos like this on Facebook.

I remember this part of the trail too, as your dad passed this point, he stated, "This trail is nuts without a locker."

Go 255's and save your pennies. Can you DD 35's? Yeah, but that extra inch or so won't be worth it when you're struggling up hills and beating the crap out of you 4runner for them to fit. 255's will look killer on your 4runner and resale on those are good if you change your mind for 35's. Plus with the body lift and 35's you'd be spending $3-500 more, which could go to new wheels or a bumper. Also you don't like the wide look of 305's or 285's then the 35's will look extremely wide.
